• Just 38,600 km from new; a rare European-delivery; LHD example

Supplied new to Mr B. Lec, who used it primarily for trips to Continental Europe, this highly desirable left-hand drive, European-delivery 4.2-Litre Series I Roadster was first registered as J241 in Jersey, Channel Islands. It has been driven only 38,600 km (24,000 miles) in its 47-year existence, and its provenance is known and well documented. Since 1997, Eagle Racing took care of maintenance and service, including regular cavity wax injection for optimum preservation. It remains authentic and virtually original, apart from a sympathetic 'exact match' exterior refinish in 2004 and the sensible addition of a modern cooling fan and stainless-steel exhaust.
Classic Jaguar expert Chris Keith-Lucas recently viewed the car and gave his independent opinion, "As a Series I 4.2 car, it is one of the most desirable of all the E-Type variants for road use. The registration number is brilliant for an E type. This car is attractive, being well-looked after but not concours-quality. Personally, this is how I like a car, and I would love to own it, as it is a really 'proper' car, and not 'tarted-up'. No one has been tempted to put up-rated brakes, non-standard dampers or low-profile tyres on it".
The car comes with a detailed Eagle service, check-over and cavity wax processing booklets, Jaguar Cars' 'European Distributors and Dealers' booklet (July 1964 edition) and 'Jaguar 4.2 'E' Type Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook'. It has UK road tax and an MOT certificate valid until 2013. Complete with the factory-supplied hard top, it is obviously a superb addition to any collection, as well as being a very usable E-Type by any standard. Simply beautiful and almost entirely original throughout, it is undoubtedly one of the most desirable examples available today.

This highly desirable, left-hand drive, E-Type Series 1 4.2-Litre Roadster was supplied new in Europe to a Mr B Lec and first registered as 'J 241' in Jersey, Channel Islands. This car is a Series 1 roadster with the 4.2 litre engine which offers more torque with the same performance as its predecessor. This left hand drive European specification car was delivered to Jersey in the Channel Isles in January 1965. There it remained with its second owner for over 30 years until it was sold to Stockholm in 1997. We were then able to sell the vehicle in 2014 and are pleased to be able to offer it to you again.
With only 42,000 kilometres on the clock, the car is in excellent , unrestored original condition. It was always properly maintained. The service documents are extensive, there is no need for maintenance or repairs. It presents an extremely rare opportunity to acquire an unrestored Series 1 E Type that gives an impression of being nearly new.
