This 1965 Jaguar XKE roadster is finished in metallic burgundy over a tan interior, and power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The previous owner commissioned a refurbishment approximately 12 years ago that reportedly included a repaint, a replacement interior kit, and mechanical work that was said to include an engine rebuild as well as re-sealing the transmission. The current owner acquired the car in 2015. Equipment includes a tan convertible soft top, a tan top boot, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and triple SU carburetors. This Series 1 XKE roadster is now offered on behalf of the current owner in Mississippi with a Tennessee title listing the engine number as the VIN.

The body was reportedly refinished in burgundy metallic during refurbishment work performed approximately 12 years ago during previous ownership. Features include a tan folding soft top, a tan top boot, chrome bumpers, chrome moldings, and glass headlight covers. The seller notes a scratch on the driver-side headlight cover.

15″ chrome knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 205/70 Pirelli P4 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors, and the four-wheel independent suspension utilizes torsion bars up front and coil springs at the rear.

The interior was reportedly refreshed during previous ownership with a kit from O.S.J.I and features low-back bucket seats upholstered in tan leather, along with matching door panels, tan carpets, and a black dash pad. Equipment includes tan lap belts, a folding armrest, and a Pioneer CD stereo. The seller notes tears in the vinyl behind the driver’s seat bottom and states that the horn does not work.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Ancillary gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the current owner since 2015. True mileage is unknown. Corrosion is noted on the turn signal stalk.

The 4.2L twin-cam inline-six is equipped with triple SU side-draft carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the engine was rebuilt during the refurbishment work during previous ownership, and service during current ownership includes a replacement oil pressure sending unit and a replacement air filter.

The cylinder head stamping reads 7E4032-9, which matches the engine number listed on the body identification plate. The engine number is also listed on the title as the VIN.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the seller notes that refurbishment work during previous ownership included replacement transmission seals.
