This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was purchased by the seller’s father in 1986 and reportedly remained parked until it was purchased by a family friend in 2012 and partially refurbished. Finished in red over a tan leather interior, the car is equipped with a tan soft top, Wilwood front disc brakes, and three Weber carburetors. This XKE roadster was purchased three years ago by the seller and is now offered with a removable hardtop and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.
The exterior has been refinished in red, and the seller notes that remaining refurbishment work includes installing exterior rubber seals and adjusting the tan soft top, which can be viewed in the raised position in the photo gallery below. The removed bumpers are not included in the sale, and a front grille has been added. Imperfections are noted in the finish, and a color-matched removable hardtop is included in the sale.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear 225/60 BFGoodrich g-Force Sport tires. Wilwood disc brakes are fitted up front.
The tan interior features leather upholstery, door panels, and side sills. Black rubber floor mats protect the carpets, and a body-color center tunnel cover has been added.
A leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts factory instrumentation. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was reportedly rebuilt during the seller’s ownership and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes three Weber carburetors, an upgraded radiator and coolant reservoir, and replacement exhaust headers.
Cylinder-head stamping 7E6637-9 is shown above and matches the engine number listed on the data plate.
