Car to be at auction 9/30/06
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
The Spirit of Motoring
Ascot Racecourse England
Saturday 30th September 2006

Lot 230 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster
Registration no: E 2233
Chassis no: 1E 12882
Estimate: £30,000-36,000

This example was originally exported to Sweden new by the Browns Lane factory on 25th May 1966 as described by the enclosed Heritage Certificate. It was then imported back to the United Kingdom in 1981. Latterly, during the period of 1997 to 1999, the car was the subject of a comprehensive body and mechanical rebuild. It was this time that it was converted from left to righthand drive. It is still in pristine condition having covered just 5,000 miles since its completion. A number of improvements have been attributed to this car most importantly a tubular stainless steel exhaust manifolds and stainless steel exhaust system as well as four-pot callipers and ventilated front discs all surrounded in 6½" chrome wire wheels.

She comes complete with a fully documented history file including a photographic body rebuild, a Jaguar/Daimler Heritage certificate and VSE engine rebuild sheets and invoices. It should also be noted that not only does this represent an extremely fine example of Jaguar's iconic E-Type but that the cherished registration, E2233, is also included in the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
