Ebay item 10/15/19
www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Jaguar-E-Type-SERIES-1-XKE-ROADSTER-4-2-LITERS/37280473456 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $79,500 for 29 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 23k miles.

Seller's description:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this interesting recent discovery from the state of Ohio. This Jaguar was just purchased from the car's very long term second owner from around 1970-71, with a believed original 23,356 miles on it. The seller was a car stylist and claimed he worked for the legendary George Barris at one point from 1966-1967 on the Munster TV series car. He later moved back home to Ohio where he started a business named "Automotive Restyling". He purchased this then 4-year-old Jaguar E-type Roadster from a friend with only 13,000 original miles on it around 1970-71. It was then mildly restyled over the period of the next 5 years into the car you see today. It has accrued only an additional 10,000 miles since with limited and careful use.
The body and chassis on this car is extremely solid and rustfree, and shows zero signs of accidents. It was garaged during the previous owner's care since 1971. The bodywork has been mildly modified as it appears but if one wishes, it could be returned to standard. The car's chassis number 1E15259 shows that this car started life as a desirable covered headlight car and appears to have been Opalescent Silver Blue/Navy Blue from what we can tell. The seller indicated he purchased another bonnet since it's original one was missing, but couldn't find another covered light model, so he settled for the open headlight bonnet currently fitted. It operates on a small hydraulic ram to open and close. The car still appears to have it's original floors fitted in fantastic shape and undercarriage pictures show the car is amazingly and completely original, solid, and rustfree. It's custom black cherry metallic paintwork presents very well overall with a few noted flaws and chips around some edges of panels. Cosmetically the car is in very good driver condition.
The car's interior was also restyled at the time and features high back seats and a wildly exotic wood dashboard, console, and door inserts which matches the steering wheel quite well. It's been retrimmed in a soft burgundy velour-like material. The soft top is black cloth with a burgundy vinyl soft top boot. The trunk area has been carpeted.
Mechanically, the car's engine starts easily on the key and runs fantastic, sounding very strong through it's side exit exhaust system. It has great oil pressure, no smoke or unusual noises, and exhibits all the signs of a healthy low mileage engine. The rear brakes are currently dragging/sticky from being in recent storage, and the clutch needs replacement. The car appears very original mechanically and still retains it's matching numbers block, cylinder head, chassis picture frame, factory stamped data plate.
Overall, this desirable Series One E-type Roadster has been lightly customized and can be used on the road after a few mechanical repairs. It still retains it's original matching numbers drivetrain, factory picture frame stamping, and original data plate. This low-mileage and solid car could also be a strong candidate for a proper restoration to a concour level.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
