Offered for sale on Ebay: Seller's description:
This XKE Roadster is an outstanding low mile example of one these desirable cars that is of the quality level that can be driven and enjoyed just as you see it here. Recently acquired from the family of its previous 35 year owner, this car is mechanically sound and most importantly a solid, rust-free body which is surely the single most important issue with these cars. Exterior paint was done in a bare metal respray approximately 20 years ago but appears much newer with no damage or bodywork failure of any kind. Overall paint is near show quality. Most recently this car has had a complete mechanical service including new correct tires fitted to the original mint Jaguar wire wheels. We also just replaced the convertible top which was fitted by an experienced shop evidenced by its perfect fit, not an easy task. Full leather seats and new foam cushions were also just redone with the bulk of the rest of the interior being excellent original components. The original wood steering wheel was also stripped and refinished to a beautiful end result. Over the long term ownership of the previous owner the car was always serviced and maintained but driven very sparingly every summer which contributes to its very low mileage of 39467 miles. A short ride and drive in this beautiful car would convince anyone experienced in these cars of the strong mechanical condition and overall good performance exhibited. We do have a production record history from Jaguar heritage trust on this vehicle. Jaguar XKE roadsters have been a desirable and collectible sports their entire life and finding a good sound car that can be driven and enjoyed while still being affordable is becoming increasingly difficult. This car is a high quality driver but not a full show car and we are striving to represent this car correctly in every way. This car is being offered at auction with a very realistic reserve and we invite any and all questions to assist you in your decision to bid on this outstanding Jaguar XKE roadsterhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Sellers description:
Jaguar E-Type 1.5 Roadster. This great car is nice upper end driver type car. It is finished in the very attractive color combination of signal red with black leather interior. It has only 39,572 miles which we believe to be original. It has great compression of 135 psi to 145 psi on each cylinder. It has newer chrome wire wheels. There is no rust and the body is solid. 1968 is a very desireable year for Jaguar E-types. A great car to enjoy while it appreciates! This automobile is available for inspection in Rochester, NY.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
