Ebay item 4/10/07

Opening bid $5,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $24k.

Sellers description:
1968 E-type that is up for auction has an outstanding body. The car was disassembled a couple of years ago and was put on a rotator to restore the body to new condition. Martin Robey floors were installed as well as outer sills. The complete tub of the body has been gone through from head to toe. The bonnet was done at the same time. New fenders and a new valance were installed on the bonnet. The previous owner who had all the work done, passed away so the car was not assembled when I got it. I've since installed the rear end, the engine, gearbox and the running gear. The car will need the engine, rear end and all the mechanicals to be gone through. The car is complete except for the trunk lid.

Current bid $6,600 reserve not met, 3 bids, 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $23,500.

Sellers description:
Has had extensive work done on the body ($40,000). It was on a rotator, the floors, sills, inner sills and the trunk area were all replaced with Martin Robey replacement panels. The bonnet is in nice shape as well. The car has been painted British Racing Green, which was the original color. There is no rust or bondo on the car. The doors line up nicely as well as the boot lid. This a great opportunity to buy a car where the most expensive work has been done. All the running gear needs to be gone through, i.e. engine, gearbox and rear end. The only things that appears to be missing is the air cleaner, the tool kit and the jack.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
