This 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5 roadster is powered by a Team CJ Stage One 4.2-liter inline-six and equipped with an earlier-style enclosed-headlight bonnet, triple Weber carburetors, exhaust headers, an aftermarket exhaust system, a four-speed manual transmission, and a Mallory distributor. The owner purchased the car in 1990 and initially had it repainted and retrimmed. The engine was built in 2019, and the car was refinished again in 2023. This XKE Series 1.5 roadster is now offered on dealer consignment in Pennsylvania with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service and refurbishment records and photos, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean Maryland title.
The car was originally Silver Gray, and in 1990 the floors, inner and outer sills, and door skins were replaced and it was repainted in dark blue. It was stripped and repainted in dark blue again by Lippencott Jaguar in 2023. A black soft top and replacement bonnet with enclosed headlights have also been installed.
Wider-than-standard 15″ Dayton knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 215/60 Dunlop Sport Classic tires. Wilwood front brake calipers, neoprene suspension bushings, and electric power-steering have also been added.
The cabin was reupholstered in 1990 with red leather sourced from G.W. Bartlett Co. A Becker Europa radio is installed but does not work.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, though the total mileage is unknown.
Team CJ of Austin, Texas built the 4.2-liter inline-six was to Stage One spec in 2019. The engine also has triple Weber DCOE 45 carburetors, exhaust headers, an aftermarket exhaust system, and a Mallory distributor. The radiator support “picture frame” was replaced in 1990 and the removed chassis number is included in the sale.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission. The clutch was replaced in 2019.
A car cover is included in the sale along with tools, spare parts, service records, and a flash drive containing refurbishment records and photos.
