An extremely original UK-supplied S1 4. 2 E-Type Roadster, presented in its original factory colour of Carmen Red with black leather interior. Driven by John Surtees for Classic and Sports Car magazine.
A full "matching numbers" car which was restored in the mid-1980s and has been unrestored or painted since. This E-Type is in first-class mechanical condition. Cosmetically the car is in superb condition and shows a light patina commensurate with the age of restoration.
The car is exceptionally original with only the following minor upgrades fitted to assist driveability and reliability:
SNG Barrett brake calliper upgrade kit
Luminition Magnetronic ignition
All coolant hoses are matt black silicon.
Wider Dayton tubeless rims fitted with 205/ 70 tyres
A TR4 voltage regulator is fitted with a battery sense relay as fitted to the S2 cars
Solid state SU fuel pump has been fitted (looks and sounds the same as the points version).
Registered as a Historic vehicle, although for the buyer's peace of mind, the car is presented with an MOT valid until August 2024

Hi Andy, as of this time the database has only about 30% of the cars built. A source of frustration is that many don't list the color other than red so can not be listed as Carmen red, there could be many.
