Car to be at auction 6/13
    www.bonhams.com/auctions/20928/lot/115/

    Auction description:
    15 Jun 2013 15:00 BST Oxford
    Collectors' Motor Cars
    Lot 115
    1966 Jaguar E-Type 'Series 1' 4.2-Litre Coupé
    Registration no. EOF 4C
    Chassis no. 1E21020
    Engine no. 7E6304-9
    Estimate:
    £20,000 - 30,000
    €23,000 - 35,000
    US$ 31,000 - 47,000
This 4.2-litre E-Type has been fully restored by marque specialists DK Engineering to very good standard and is a past entrant in the Benson & Hedges Concours. As good underneath as it appears on top, 'EOF 4C' could be brought back to concours condition with relatively little work, the rectification of vermin damage to the passenger seat being one obvious requirement. Currently displaying a total of 99,974 miles on the odometer, the car is finished in Carmen Red with re-trimmed black leather interior and comes complete with fitted cover, tool kit and spare wheel.

In storage for several years, the car will require re-commissioning before further use and thus is sold strictly as viewed.

I looked at this car at Bonhams Auction on 15 June 2013 and found all numbers to be correct but for the engine block number which is 7A34134 and believe to be from a 1968 to 69 Daimler sovereign. (The number on the head matched the VIN plate).
Other than this the car was in excellent condition.

For sale at Tom Hartley Junior Cars. Fully restored by XK Engineering several years ago with little use since. Recently re-commissioned and still retaining its original engine as confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage certificate. £99,950.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
