For sale at Richard Harris Cars of Birkenhead for £69,950. Seller's description below.
www.richardharriscars.com/jaguar/e-type/series-1-4.2-fhc/1310614/
This original UK car was built on 1st August 1966, just 2 days after England's famous World Cup victory. Spirits would have been high as this car rolled off the production line! It is finished in its original colour of Carmen Red and the Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms it still has its original engine, head and gearbox. What is unusual is that the mileage can be verified through the large history file. The first documented MoT dates from 9th May 1980 when the car had covered 79,146 miles. Subsequent MoT certificates show the car was in regular use until the late 1980s when, as E Type values rose, it was taken off the road for a bare metal restoration, it then saw minimal use as a restored car preserving its condition. In 2007 the engine received a full rebuild and has covered just 17,000 miles since.
In the last 18 months in the hands of a retired E Type restorer the car has received a full service with all oil and fluid changes, electronic power steering conversion, new front discs and pads with Coopercraft 4 piston callipers, new ball joints and track rod ends, brake master and slave cylinder and brake servo, all lights stripped, cleaned and rebuilt, new alloy radiator and header tank, new distributor leads and plugs, SU carbs fully rebuilt and set up, new ducting tubes for heater, new window rubbers and mechanism refurbished, new stainless exhaust down pipes, new wipers, all splines checked and greased and wheels aligned. This is one of the best E Types I have driven, great to pull out of the garage on a Sunday morning!
