    Ebay item 2/3/20

    www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Jaguar-E-Type-Original-Solid-Car/174178843283

Opening bid $30,000 reserve not met 0 bids 9 days left in auction, seller jagconnection, 67k miles. Richfield, Minnesota.

    Seller's description:

THE CAR BEING OFFERED… is a beautiful 1967 Series 1 E-Type Jaguar FHC finished in Pale Primrose Yellow with a beautiful Black Interior which compliments the exterior brilliantly. This E-Type is guaranteed to be a crowd pleasure at any classic car show, or main street you race through.

    CAR'S HISTORY

Since rolling off the production floor, the car has only known 3 owners; however the first owner only held onto the car for about one year, so its spent the majority of its life between only two owners. The current owner has had the pleasure of enjoying and showing the car for nearly 15 years. Since purchasing the car in 2005, routine maintenance has been performed with thorough record keeping, which will be included with the purchase of the car. Additional documentation is included from the previous ownership which validates its lifetime spent as a California “Black Plate” car.

I have been asked to sell this car for a fellow member of the Minnesota Jaguar Club. I myself have been in the club for 40+ years and have restored many E-type Jaguars. To give you an idea of who I am see my personal collection on the following link: seepictures. wixsite. com/genesgarage.

PAINT --- The exterior is painted Pale Primrose; it’s not concours but still looks stunning. Pale Primrose is highly appreciated and highlights the beautiful lines of a Series I E-Type Jaguar.

BODY SHEET METAL --- Body is solid. It spent much of its life in California and of course since being brought to Minnesota it’s only been driven in the summer months.

INTERIOR --- The contrasting black updated interior is in very nice condition. Updates include new seat covers and center console with upgraded matching binding that ties nicely with the cars exterior color.

ENGINE BAY --- Not original paint (painted black) but clean.

TRUNK --- Solid and clean. Correct Series I spare tire/wheel with knockoff hammer and upgraded carjack included.

WHEELS/TIRES --- The chrome wire wheels complete with knock-off center spinners are original and in good shape for original wheels. New tires were put on the car a few years ago around 58.5k miles.

GLASS --- Original glass throughout; some minor wiper marks on the windshield but again for original glass it’s in good shape.

CHROME --- Chrome is good but some patina due to the fact it’s mostly original thus most of it has never been re-plated.

THINGS DONE IN THE LAST FEW YEARS

Engine service done, mostly on top (valves, etc.)

    Rebuilt Differential

    New Clutch

    New tires

    EXTRAS/UPGRADES

    Upgraded Cooling system

    Upgraded Interior Kit

    HOW DOES IT DRIVE/RUN?

The car starts with ease from cold, idles great, revs smoothly, and performs flawlessly. Powerful, robust, and beautifully sonorous, these straight six engines are among the very best six-cylinders ever produced. All original SMITHS instruments are fully functional along with all toggle switches and accessories; temperature is normal when warm, system is charging, and oil pressure is good.

Why is this car being advertised as a 1967 when it was built in December 1965 & titled in 1966?

This 1966 Jaguar XKE coupe was first sold in California and is powered by a numbers-matching 4.2L inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car has been refinished in yellow over a reupholstered black interior and is equipped with triple SU carburetors, chrome bumpers, wire wheels, a side-opening rear hatch, electric radiator fans, and a Kenwood CD stereo. It was purchased by the current owner 16 years ago from its reported second owner of 40 years. Service performed since 2014 included cylinder head work, a reseal of the differential, and the replacement of the clutch. This Series 1 XKE is now offered on dealer consignment in Washington with service records, California black license plates, and a clean Minnesota title in the owner’s name listing the car as a 1967 model.

Previously white, the body has been refinished in Pale Primrose Yellow. The car features recessed headlights with clear covers, dual fender-mounted mirrors, split chrome bumpers with guards, a vented hood, and a sloping tail with a side-opening hatch. Wiper marks are visible on the windshield, and pitting is noted on the chrome.

The 15″ chrome wire wheels with knock-off center spinners are fitted with 205/70 Dunlop Signature II tires showing 2015 date codes. A matching spare, along with a knock-off hammer and jack, resides under the trunk floor. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors.

The seats were reupholstered in black leather with yellow piping in 2018, and the matching black door panels and carpets were also replaced at that time. Equipment includes lap belts, a wood shift knob, pop-out rear vent windows, and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth capability.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline and an inset analog clock, and auxiliary coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU HD8 carburetors for a factory-rated output of 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The cylinder head was resurfaced in 2016, at which time the timing chain, tensioner, and head gaskets were replaced. Electric cooling fans have been added.

Cylinder head stamping 7E7191-9 corresponding stamping on the engine block, and the number matches the engine number listed on the chassis plate.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch was replaced in 2014, and the differential was resealed in 2015.
