Listed for sale at www.classicargarage.com. "Jaguar E-type 4.2 Litre FHC(Fixed Head Coupe) Series 1, year 1966. VIN number 1E32500, engine number 7E7211-9, transmission number EJ6314, built on January 5, 1966. Heritage certificate present, matching numbers. Colour gun metal grey with dark red leather interior. This tremendous and FULLY original(!) E-type FHC was sold new by the firm Autolab Imports Inc, in Woburn Massachusetts USA. The automobile was found at a dealer in California by a Dutchman who lived and worked there for 15 years. Since the year 2006 the car is registered in The Netherlands. This E-type is very UNIQUE; the car was never restored, is fully original and the car has driven only 20,000 miles from new! The original paint still looks good and shiney and the original interior is still in perfect shape with a nice patina created by the years. The automobile is in very good condition inside and out and mechanically everything is excellent. This E-type is perfectly documented. All service invoices since the year 1985 are present, as are the original warrantee certificate and service cards from the first owner. Also present is the manual of the fitted(original) Blaupunkt radio and old photos of the car. In the USA the car was serviced and maintained by XK's Unlimited in San Luis Obispo and in The Netherlands the car was inspected at a renown specialist(Kolvenbach). This magnificent E-type features chrome wire wheels, the original Blaupunkt radio and a power aerial. List of previous/current owners: 1966 Paul R. Reed Jr. - Brookline, Massachusetts(gave the car as a present to his girlfriend), 1985 Steve Lloyd Emery - Milton Massachusetts, 1985-1998 Steven Hawins - Ducbury, Massachusetts, 1998-1998 Daniel J. Rapley - Bethel, Connecticut(Jaguar Specialist), 1998-1999 Kenneth Vonroenn/DocsJags - Arizona(Jaguar Specialist), 1999-2010 current Dutch owner, previously citizen of Atascadero California. He shipped the car to The Netherlands in the year 2006. This is a scarce unique opportunity to acquire an extremely original Jaguar E-type series 1 FHC. A true time machine to the 1960's. This beauty, historic spirit and originality cannot be obtained with any top class restoration."

[Back to Cars]
Normally the title ' Barn find's' proceeds the description of untouched cars but the reality is they will require complete restoration. Therefore, as careful your approach, they are no longer the car that left the Browns Lane production line. Similarly, dry climate cars can often represent a worthwhile starting point as the sometimes expensive body should be in better condition than a home market example but of course, vary in condition as is the case with any 50 year old car. It's agreed therefore that there is no easy route to finding an original series 1 E Type that is both completely as it left the factory and in fine working order. Chassis Number 1E32500 is offered for sale today with fully traceable history verifying the mileage of 22,600. This example comes with original bill of sale, warranty card service booklet, the original Blaupunkt radio instructions and the owners hand book in correct folder. The history file details the service items over the years and includes the hand written notes attached under the bonnet which the second owner chose as his aid memoires. This is one of a handful of cars that has never been restored or pulled apart still sporting its original opalescent Silver Grey paint and Red interior and the factory crayon marks on bulkhead. Since arriving with us and having covered some 200 miles so far on new period Pirelli Cinturato's to compliment the original spare, we can confirm this E Type drives without fault. For reasons of good housekeeping so we can genuinely describe it as 'Turn Key' ready, we are continuing to go through all the normal serviceable items although remarkably, we are finding very little. So an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a factory original series 1 E type ready for use that feels like a car that has only just started out on it's journey rather than at its end. We will welcome any qualified inspection to confirm just how original this amazing car is.

The car was sold new by Jaguar Cars New York to its first owner, Paul R. Ried Jr. of Brookline, Massachusetts. This example comes with its original engine and gearbox as well as a bill of sale, warranty card, service booklet, the original Blaupunkt radio instructions and the owners handbook in the correct folder. The history file details the service items over the years and includes the hand-written notes attached under the bonnet which the second owner chose as his aid memoire. This is one of a handful of cars that has never been restored or pulled apart. Still sporting its original opalescent silver grey paint, red interior and factory crayon marks on bulkhead, it is supplied with a UK V5 document, an MoT test certificate valid until February 2018 and a Heritage Trust Certificate. Offering the new owner one of the best examples of iconic British motoring history, this head-turning time warp example can only be described as being in original and exceptional condition throughout and should also prove to be a solid, blue-chip investment for the future.

Hello,
In 1985 I helped find this Jaguar with my then boyfriend Steve Emery. I have wonderful memories of talking Paul, the first owner, into selling it to us and then the summer I drove it around Boston. On the way to Newport RI, the pop band Huey Lewis and the News chased me down the interstate to Newport RI, with the tour bus door open begging me to pull over or join them at the next venue.
I have found 4 original black and white photos of this great car from 1985, and would be pleased to send them to the current owner as part of her provenance.
Please respond to the email I posted with this commentary.
With warmest regards and memories.
