Ebay item 2/23/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $6,500, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. VIN J681E35102.

Sellers description:
THIS IS YOU CHANCE TO OWN A CLASSIC. UP FOR BID IS A 1968 JAGUAR XKE SERIES I NOT A 2+2. I DONT' KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS CAR AS I AM HELPING A FRIEND TO SELL IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT FOR MYSELF BUT I ALREADY HAVE A 1970 SERIES II. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW BY MY FRIENDS FATHER IN 1968. IT HAS NEVER BEEN OUT IN THE WEATHER ALWAYS GARAGED UNTIL JUST RECENTLY WHEN HE BROUGHT IT TO MY HOUSE ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO. IT HAS NOT BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS AND HAS BEEN SITTING IN A GARAGE. WE HAVE NOT TRIED TO START IT OR TURN OVER THE ENGINE. I DID NOTICE THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS FROZEN, DIDN'T WANT TO FORCE ANYTHING. THIS CAR HAS BLACK INTERIOR. THE BODY WAS PAINTED RED MANY YEARS AGO. THE REAR WINDOW IS OUT AS THE RUBBER GAVE WAY, BUT THE WINDOW IS THERE. IT HAS FACTORY AIR, STANDARD TRANSMISSION. AS FAR AS I CAN SEE THE CAR IS COMPLETE. THE SIDE MIRRORS HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO OTHER THAN STOCK, BUT THERE IS 1 NEW MIRROR AND I OLD MIRROR IN THE CAR. IT DOES HAVE A SPARE TIRE AND ORIGINAL TOOLS. THERE WASN'T ANY BODY DAMAGE ON THIS CAR UNTIL WE BROUGHT IT TO MY HOUSE WHERE I BACKED INTO THE FRONT BONNET AND PUT A DENT IN IT AND PUSHED IT SLIGHTLY BACK. THE DENT HAD BEEN PULLED OUT AND PRIMED. THE PICTURES DONT SHOW AN AMACO BAR IN THE FRONT BUT I HAVE IT ALSO.

This car was imported to Switzerland around 2009 and then completely restored 2010-2011 by the Oldtimer Classics garage in Flammat. Engine & gearbox are original, and the car was painted in its original color Opalescent Maroon (as JHT certificate). The car is in a stunning condition and drives very nicely.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
