Ebay item 7/19/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Jaguar-E-type-coupe-series-1-5-/151085096456
Opening bid $20,000 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. 15k miles.

Sellers description:
Thoughtfully restored to retain classic appearance while providing a significant performance increase and improved driving comfort, even in the warmest weather, for long weekend trips and British car events.

This is the last year of the classic XKE Series 1 body type before the US DOT required larger, higher bumpers and lights. The only external concession is uncovered headlights, which actually provide better visibility than the earlier covered lights. Internal to the car, US emissions requirements resulted in a performance downgrade to dual Stromberg carburetors, but I have replaced them with triple Webers for even more power than the Series 1 triple SUs. Some details:

· Engine completely rebuilt for high performance street driving and touring: oversize valves, Terry's Jag high-lift cams, triple DCOE-45 Webers, aluminum flywheel, engine balanced, Pertronix electronic ignition, 2" stainless steel headers

· Petrol tank, fuel pump, brake rotors and pads replaced

· 5-speed transmission from Classic Jaguar of Austin, TX - great shifting and low rpms at highway cruising speed

· State-of-art A/C from RetroAir, Dallas, TX (see images of compressor installation and interior evaporator vents)

· Bumpers removed and re-plated, new 6" Dayton wire wheels

· New black leather interior and carpets and new headliner installed 5 years ago - still look new, new weather seals

· All gauges, switches, and lights function properly.

· Body stripped, some rusty areas cut out and replaced, painted in a Spies Hacker BMW silver.

Interestingly, there is an error on the data plate of this car. The data plate shows the chassis number as 1E35328. However, the chassis number is actually 1E35528 (1 digit off). The Heritage Certificate for this car agrees with the correct chassis number, and all other number on the data plate, which match the rest of the car.

Wogbe, nice car. Data plate errors are rare but well documented.

Car has a buy it now price of $95,000 for 4 days. Seller classicdriver7

Sellers description:
Year, Make & Model: 1968 Series 1.5 E-Type FHC. (Jaguar does not officially recognize the "Series 1.5" designation, but instead considers these the last of the Series 1s. Enthusiasts, collectors, and even the Jaguar Club of North America (JCNA) use the Series 1.5 moniker for cars made for model-year 1968 because of the significant changes made to the car to improve reliability, and satisfy U.S. safety & emissions regulations that would take effect in 1969. The exterior is the essentially the same as almost all other Series 1 cars made from 1961 - 1967. The big changes were to the cooling system, dash, and headlights.)

Chassis Number (used for VIN): 1E35328 NOTE: The VIN number of title matches the chassis number on the data plate. However, the actual chassis number stamped on the "bird cage" front frame section is 1E35528 (one digit off). The Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust rendered an opinion supporting the conclusion that there is an error on the data plate. A curious and rare occurrence, but not unheard of. There is no issue with title, nor any contention over the match of the numbers. A copy of their opinion is included in the documentation to be supplied with the car.)

The Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust issues Heritage Certificates that officially confirm a Jaguar's identification numbers, date of manufacture, delivery destination, and even first owner. Bad Kitty's Heritage Trust Certificate will come with the car.

The original mileage is not known, as the odometer was reset during the 2006 restoration. Since then, 19,039 miles have been put on the clock.
