Ebay item 1/20/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1963-jaguar-xke-/301074355396
Current bid $18,300, no reserve, 6 bids 6 days left in auction. 35k miles.
Sellers description:
We recovered this particular example from a barn, where it sat, warm and dry, for over 25 years. The original colors were silver with blue interior with chrome wire wheels. After examining the car and performing some carburetor and electrical work, we managed to turn this barn-find into a running project car - ready to go for the next Jaguar enthusiast with an itch to restore. Though its a non-matching numbers car, it is a running project car, that has minimal rust damage, as a result of its storage in a warm, dry place.
It's not every day that you can find an early, running XKE with a traceable ownership history. And the market for these cars is going nuts right now - concourse cars are selling for well over $100,000.00, and others consistently selling for more than $70,000.00. These cars will never go out of style - their innovative history and strong aesthetics make them a great investment any time, but an especially strong investment now.

How can this car be listed as a 1963 with a 1968 serial number?
Indicated as a 1.5 also? Checked the car just before it in the database
and it's a 1968, the one after is also a 1968.
It may in fact be a 1963, but the serial number would be 88XXXX and
the plate SHOWS 1E35724????

your right David. this car points to a 63' because of the dash, ashtray, engine compartment and head number beginning with R.
Something is not right here. The two vin plates come from much later cars. Only a heritage certificate will settle this. The original vin plate is likely lost.
