    Ebay item 8/19/08
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-1968-E-Type-2-2-Project-Runs_W0QQitemZ ...
Opening bid $5,000, no bids yet, 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 with automatic transmission. This vehicle is being sold as a restoration project. The Jag starts and runs. The brakes work and the vehicle can be lot driven. This vehicle does start and drive but is not road ready. The body has been stripped down and sprayed with gray primer. The body shell has normal E-type rust at the jack points. The rockers, doors, 1/4's, and bonnet are all solid and in good shape. In fact, the bonnet is the best 60's jag bonnet I've seen in awhile. Most of the body fittings are there. The chrome is in OK shape for a driver but does have some pitting and imperfections. The interior is mostly complete and appears original. The seats are cracked in spots but overall are in good shape for their age. The engine and drivetrain appear complete and original. The air cleaner is not rusted. Overall, this is a great Jag for a complete restoration or for someone looking to have a driver that can be worked on over time.

    Car returns to ebay 5/18/11
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/One-most-attractive-cars-ever-built-/120725738881
Opening bid $13,500 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Culpeper, Virginia.

    Sellers description:
Our XKE 2+2 is a 4.2 liter, rear wheel drive and has the optional automatic transmission. It has only 58,509 miles. The car was restored (paint and interior) in 2008. The original car was light blue with a black interior. The red stripe tires are mounted on wire wheels The tan leather interior and carpets are in excellent condition. The headlight covers are a styling addition. The dash has a crack and is loose at the glove box. There is some rust on the hood, with a broken turn signal lens and the paint bubbling behind the bumper on the passenger side. The same condition exists on the driver's side. The chrome bumpers were recently refinished but the rear bumper guard has a small dent. (See the photos for close-ups of imperfections) The steering rack was recently rebuilt. The car has air conditioning but it is not working.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
