This 1968 Jaguar XKE 2+2 was sold new in California, acquired by the seller’s aunt from its original owner in 1977, and imported to Canada by the seller in 2005. The car is powered by a 4.2L inline-six backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission and finished in Primrose Yellow over a black interior. Service during the seller’s ownership included a new radiator, thermostat, fluids, filters, and more. This XKE is offered with a 2017 vehicle assessment and clean British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.
The 2+2 featured a 9″ longer wheelbase and 2″ higher roofline than other XKEs, and this example is finished in Primrose Yellow. A dent behind the driver’s door was repaired according to the seller.
Trim includes exposed headlights and bumper overriders with tubular bars front and rear. Chrome wire wheels feature earless knock-off nuts and are mounted with whitewall radial tires.
The cabin is upholstered in black with matching carpets and plastics. The car retains a factory 3-spoke steering wheel and is equipped with a two-speaker stereo. Stock instrumentation includes a 5-digit odometer which has reportedly rolled over and shows 28k miles, approximately 6k of which have been added by the seller over 14 years.
The 4.2L inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors, factory cast manifolds, a finned aluminum cam cover, and electronic ignition. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission.
The most recent service was an oil and filter change performed in spring 2018. The seller notes leaking from the transmission seals, and additional photos of the underside from 2017 are provided in the gallery below.
A black California license plate, factory tool kit, owner’s handbook, and spare wheel are included in the sale.
