This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that was acquired as a project by the current owner in August 1993 after reportedly being found in a chicken coop. Subsequent work included refinishing the paint in its current shade of white, installation of a replacement black soft top, and refurbishment of the black leather seats. Power comes from a 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and recent service is said to have included carburetor work and a radiator recore. This XKE is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a jack and a clean Nebraska title.

The roadster’s bodywork and white paint reportedly were refinished in 1994 and a replacement black soft top was also fitted under current ownership. Additional equipment includes chrome-finished bumpers with front overriders, a driver-side mirror, and an antenna. Paint chips on the body can be seen on the front of the vehicle, on the passenger door, ahead of the driver door, and on the rear quarters behind the tires along with a dent in the driver door that displays open panel gapping when closed. A hood hinge bracket requires repair, and the soft top shows blemishes and tears.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels wear Jaguar-branded center caps and are wrapped in 185-series tires. Stopping power is provided by servo-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The cockpit is trimmed in black with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Equipment includes a heater, a Philips AM/FM/SW stereo, interior lamps, and a lockable glove box. The seats were reportedly reupholstered at the time of the bodywork and paint refinishing.

A three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level along with an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles, approximately 700 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors which were were reportedly serviced in 2020. Work performed in April 2022 reportedly included coring and cleaning the radiator as well as replacing the fuel pump isolator bushings.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

The car’s door jamb plate indicates a serial number of 2R13927. The chassis stamping indicates 1R11384, which matches the VIN shown on the Nebraska title. The seller states that no additional data plates are present on the car.
