Frances, what a wonderful find! Low mileage cars like this are so rare, Please take LOTS of pictures to document the way it left the factory. Even the color of bolts and nuts are questioned now days after 35-40 years, no item is too small to be of interest to someone some day.

It would be hard to imagine how this car left the factory with a Series 2 rear end and a Series 1.5 bonnet....

Ebay item 5/18/16
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-/252393044407
Car has a buy it now price of $149,000 for 6 days, seller acarnut, 10k miles.

Sellers description:
This is a super low mileage Jaguar that has just completed an extensive nuts and bolts restoration.

I have been a Jaguar Clubs of America judge, specializing on e-types, for many years and seldom have I seen a series 2 car restored to this exceptional level. The cost of the restoration far exceeded the asking price of this vehicle. If you are seeking a true investor quality e-type ... pay attention to the details on this car.

According to the current owner this e-type was put on blocks when the previous owner passed away. At the time it had only 9,702 miles. It took many years for the estate to be liquidated and the son of the previous owner sold the car to its current owner in November 2007. The car was driven 300 miles and the decision was made to do a ground up restoration as this was a very solid example. I believe the low miles as with the car I have the original interior seat covers which are still in excellent condition. Also, I have the original wire wheels still with the original Dunlop SP sport tires.

The restoration took over 5 years and was just completed in 2016. The car now has only been driven 10,103 miles since it was sold and today it looks much better than when it was new.

This is truly a show quality Jaguar, done to exacting Jaguar Clubs of America (JCNA) standards. The photos speak for themselves but this is the type of car that needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. An enclosed trailer is also available and sold separately.

This is a super low mileage Jaguar e-type roadster with only 10,100 original miles that has just completed an extensive nuts and bolts restoration. At this price you would be paying for a fraction of the restoration cost and getting teh car for free !

I have been a Jaguar Clubs of America judge, specializing on e-types, for many years and seldom have I seen a series 2 car restored to this exceptional level. The cost of the restoration was approximately $200,000!. If you are seeking a true investor quality e-type ... pay attention to the details on this car.

According to the current owner this e-type was put on blocks when the owner passed away. At the time it had only 9,702 miles. This is truly a show quality Jaguar, done to exacting Jaguar Clubs of America (JCNA) standards. Perfect car to capaign for a year or two and after acquiring many trophies start driving it. The photos speak for themselves but this is the type of car that needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. An enclosed trailer is also available and sold separately.

I purchased this car in October from Ivan the Carnut who was selling it on behalf of Frances Martin. It had just over 10100 miles on the odometer. The car had a first class restoration, paying attention to every detail and keeping everything authentic. I have applied to show the car at Greenwich Concours d'Elegance.

Seller's description:

Location: TIERRA VERDE, Florida, 33715

VIN #: 1R12046

Condition: Mint

Exterior: Signal Red

Interior: Tan leather

This Series 2 E-Type has been restored to Series 1 standard, with attention paid to every detail. According to Jaguar specialist this is the nicest Series 2 he has seen. Only 11,304 miles since new! Reference on request. Asking price is close to the restoration cost, so the car itself is basically free!

This 1969 Jaguar E-type was driven only 9702 miles over the first 5-10 years, by the original owner and his son. When the son joined the army, the car was put up on blocks and stored for many years. After the original owner passed away, the car was eventually sold by the estate in January of 2008. The second owner drove the car a couple of hundred miles, and then decided to do a complete nuts and bolts restoration. The restoration took over 6 years (2011-2016) and the cost is estimated to be about $130,000. I have a full set of documents verifying the work that has been done. A relationship breakup triggered the sale of the car in October of 2016.

Current mileage on the odometer is 11.304, which may seem hard to believe, but the original wheels and Dunlop SP tires (pictured below) are provided with the car, and the condition verifies the originality.

The restoration was done to exacting Jaguar Club of America standards. Restoration guides and Jaguar Club judging guideline included with car. Car comes with copy of heritage certificate.

The car has the original engine, gearbox, starter, alternator and AC compressor.

Fantastic Finishes in West Palm Beach, Florida did the majority of the restoration work. They billed approximately 670 hours for mechanical and body work. AT $90.00 (estimate only) per hour this ads up to $60,300. A book with detailed notes made by the mechanics exists.

Early on in the restoration (2011) Branch Honda in Palm Beach, Florida did 37 hour of restoration work. At $90.00/hour this adds up to $3,330.

The engine was restored by Coventry West in Jupiter, Florida at a cost of $7,062.00. Thy also did additional work amounting to $2740.00 for labor.

The interior was completely redone by Complete Interior Restorations, Inc. in Chamblee, GA at a cost of $14,230.00

I have no information regarding to cost of the paint job, but it is top notch. Since the paint prep. work is included in the work done by Fantastc Finishes, I have estimated he paint job at only $6,000.00.

Miscellaneous parts purchases (for which I have receipts) from a multitude of suppliers, including SNG Barrett,

Welsh Enterprises add up to another $32,388. Some labor for parts rebuild is included in this amount.

After the restoration the car has been vetted by two jaguar specialists. Predator Performance owner Larry Ligas and Motorcars Inc. owner Dean Cusano. Both these gentlemen are true Jaguar specialists and restorers. Total vetting cost: $6,486.

Motorcars Inc., Plainville, CT, www.motorcarsinc.com

Predator Performance, Largo, FL, www.PredatorJaguar.com

The best estimate of the restoration cost of this concours quality 1969 Jaguar E-Type OTS is a minimum of $132,000.00.

Hagerty valuation tool values a 1969 Jaguar Series 2 OTS in concours condition at $160,000.00 and original AC adds $15,000.00.

Jaguar Club of New England gave this car a score of 0,9987 at the concours in June 2017. Winner of several local car shows during 2017 and 2018.

Price: $139,900 negotiable
