Ebay item 4/2/21
www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Jaguar-E-Type/154398366484
Opening bid US $67,500 reserve not met 0 bids 9 days left in auction, seller gm15025, 58k miles.

Seller's description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Series II 4.2 Roadster, 4 spd Beautiful color combination of British Racing Green with Biscuit leather interior. Everything works properly, except the clock. MFG date: 8/1970 Body # 1R14427 (verified on data plate, windscreen tag, and chassis).   Engine # 7R38859-9 (different than the data plate attached to the body. I have no details when engine was replaced, but the current engine is from same model year with same compression ratio). Odometer: 57707 (true mileage slightly higher due to 2 months driving while speedometer was being repaired).  Dry, no rust, Ziebart-preserved car owned by private collector who has meticulously maintained the car.   New Stayfast cloth convertible top (Feb 2020) – tan exterior with black interior and zip down window with heavy brass zipper. Original owner / driver manual, service / lubrication chart, supplemental Jaguar service handbook. Fully undercoated when new (Ziebart) – no rust is evident in any panels, sills, trunk, or lower sections. A very rust-free car. Ziebart plugs are shown in pictures of door openings. Single respray of original color paint, which is not concourse but very, very nice driver. Older restoration (date unknown, but prior to 2010) of rust-free car. Car sat from 2010 thru 2018 in climate controlled (air-conditioned, dehumidified) Florida storage unit, then recommissioned in 2018. Since I acquired in Aug 2018, it has been routinely used by myself. Car is located in northeastern Maryland. There are 2 places on the floors where OEM-sourced patch panels were professionally installed. Both panels are in same places – driver and passenger foot wells (see pictures). Recent front main engine seal and oil pan gasket replacement (upgraded to Teflon seal – Feb 2021), new brake lines (2020), new clutch and brake master cylinders (2020), new clutch slave cylinder and hose (2019), new tires – 205/70R15 (2019), new V-belts (2021). Upgraded carbs to two SU HS8s (2” throat non-emission carbs vs. original 1.75” of Zenith CD-175 emission-controlled carbs) with new air filters (2020). This results in estimated 95% of what a triple-carb SU conversion would have delivered. Runs very strong to redline.Upgraded Lucas distributor to # 41060 with vacuum advance (2020) – replaced the original vacuum-retard emission-type distributor. Sourced from British Vacuum Unit in New Hampshire – one of two recognized Lucas distributor repair facilities). New distributor cap, wires, Champion spark plug resistor-type connectors, and associated lead conduit (2020). Speedometer repaired and calibrated (2020) by Nisonger Instruments. Alternator upgraded to internal voltage regulator model (2019). New Kenwood radio (AM/FM/USB/XM-Sirius satellite) with electric antenna (2019). Replaced cigarette lighter with USB charger and integrated voltage display. Original jack, tools and bag. Special wheel spinner removal tool bought from British engineer. This tool doesn’t require a hammer to loosen / tighten the wheel spinners, thus reducing risk of hitting the body or otherwise injuring yourself. This tool requires a long breaker bar and related socket to apply required tighten / loosen force. I really like this tool and find it easier than swinging the lead hammer.Recent oil change (Jan 2021) with Valvoline VR-1 20W/50 oil and filter. Condition scores: Convertible top: 10/10; Interior: 9.5/10; Engine performance: 10/10; Transmission: 10/10; Suspension: 10/10; Chrome 9.5/10; Paint: 7/10. Pick up in Bel Air,, MD 21014.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
