Sold by Graeme Hunt of Battersea in August 2020. Amended seller's description below.
www.graemehunt.com/inventory/554/1969-jaguar-e-type-low-drag-special

1969 E Type Low Drag Lightweight Special. Road Going version, very fast. This really is a special car! Converted into its current guise in 1987 by Bryan Wingfield and R S Panels. The quality of the work is so good it looks as if restoration completed only a few miles ago. This example, Wingfield's personal car was one of only three converted to Low Drag spec, and is easily the fastest we have encountered.

It is fitted with a 3.8 litre engine mated to a Guy Broad modified MT75 5 speed gearbox. It is fitted with 45DCOE Weber carburettors and braking is provided by a system found on the XJ13. Wingfield built the car for touring and used her for many European tours. The most recent owner, custodian for 15 years used her sparingly for trips to and from Scotland.

Recently she has had a full respray with protective layers applied to the wheel arches, a new headlining and retrimmed seats in Bridge of Weir leather. Additionally, she has two pairs of seat bottoms, one completely flat and the heavily bolstered so drivers can use her in optimum comfort. The low drag coupe is remarkable with headlight covers adding shape to the front and a tapered rear end taking further the elegance of a standard FHC.

Regular servicing and MoTs give further assurance that this is a special motorcar. For the past 15 years she passed MoTs without any advisories. Competely on the button and ready to go. We can't imagine a better E Type for someone who intends using their special classic as much as possible.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
