The license plate is RFNREDE because although she's a little 'rough,' everyday, she's ready to go. I've belonged to JAGM for about 4 years and just bought this car in February of 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio. I'm still super geeked about cleaning it, learning more about it, cleaning it, the improvements I hope I can make, cleaning it and all of the great folks I meet and talk to who are curious about the car. It's the hit of my little neighborhood!

This 1968 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was stored for many years before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. The car has been repainted maroon over gray leather and is equipped with a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The engine runs when started on an external fuel source, but servicing and recommissioning is required before the car can be driven. This XKE coupe project is now offered in Texas by the selling dealer at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, spare parts, and a clean Michigan title, listing it as a 1969 model.
Finished from the factory in Daimler Silver Grey, the car was repainted maroon under prior ownership. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, fog lights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P300 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The seller notes that the brake hydraulics require replacement.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in gray leather along with a color-coordinated center console and door panels. The front carpets are missing, there are tears in the seats and armrests, and cracks are visible in the dash.
The three-spoke steering wheel wears a lace-up cover and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The battery was replaced in November 2024, the engine runs while fuel is being manually added into the carburetor intakes.
Engine stamping 7R1326-9 is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate as well as the chassis plate.
The engine is linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and the seller notes that the clutch hydraulics require replacement. Rust on the underside is visible.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate shows the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date of August 22, 1968.
