Sold by Bure Valley Classics of Buxton with Lamas in Spring 2018. Seller's description below.
www.burevalleyclassics.co.uk/listings/jaguar-e-type-fhc/

Jaguar E Type Series 2 fhc for restoration. LHD, manual, only two owners from new. 86,500 miles, rust free, increasingly rare in this condition. Recently imported directly from California, we are pleased to offer this original and rust free series 2 FHC for restoration. The car is a genuine 'black plate' California car and has been cared for by its two owners in California its whole life. The warm climate has been kind to the car as the overall condition is extremely good, with straight body panels and good door and bonnet gaps. The car was manufactured in Coventry on 7th October 1968, supplied in one of the most desirable colours of Light Blue with complementing dark blue interior. Overall this E Type is in amazing condition, 100% complete, nothing missing with absolutely zero rust on the car anywhere. All the usual problem areas are completely solid and rot free. The original body panels, floor and chassis are all in very good condition.

The engine is free and turns over on the key, although we have not attempted to get the car running,. The chrome trim is all present and very usable as are the original chrome wire wheels, including the spare. Unfortunately the windscreen is cracked and the dashboard has been baked in the sun. The only negative is a dent above the rear bumper although this will be easily repaired during the restoration process. A heritage certificate is present confirming the matching numbers chassis, body and gearbox although the engine has been replaced at some point. A folder of paperwork is present, including the original lease order, service book, manual and early service invoices adding further provenance to this rare car. With straight genuine cars thus becoming increasingly hard to find, this car represents a fantastic opportunity to start your restoration from a very solid base rather than spending months in the body shop cutting out and repairing rotten panels, etc. The car is here in the UK, available now with all taxes paid and is registered on the NOVA system with US title present.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
