Car offered at:

motorcartrader.com/vehicle/jaguar-e-type-26035-original-miles/

Seller's description:

We are proud to offer this exceptionally preserved 1970 Jaguar E-type Series 2 Fixed Head Coupe with only 26,116 miles since new. This Jaguar E-type was built on November 19 of 1969 and the date dispatch was December 15 the of 1969. The car is finished in its original color and mostly original paint of Light Blue with its original Black interior. This E-type is matching numbers throughout as confirmed through the data plate and the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

This special Jaguar was originally delivered on April 20th of 1970 to the new owner Mr. Gregorec of Allentown, Pennsylvania and sold by J.H. Bennett, Inc. (Bennett Jaguar of Allentown, PA). As we understand the story of this car, Mr. Gregorec’s ownership of the car did not last very long. He sold the car through Bennet Jaguar to the second owner in July of 1971 because his wife did not like the manual transmission. The second owner who was also from the Allentown area, had this car from July 1971 until 2024 when he passed away and subsequently was sold to my client (whom also lives near Allentown, PA and was his neighbor) in late summer of 2024 with under 26,000 miles. My client brought back the car mechanically to make it a wonderful driver. We purchased this car from my client in late March of 2025 and did some carburetor work and some cosmetic work which included new door panels (I do have the originals), new rear window seals, original style radio installed, rear door seal, new chrome rear window trim seal and new windshield (I do have the original). Furthermore, we also had the original engine compartment dry ice cleaned so it would look “clean original.” We have driven this car over 100 trouble free and fun miles. The car now has 26,116 miles and counting as we drive our cars.

This car has only traveled 26,116 miles since new 56 years ago or on average about 466 miles a year. It has had three owners since new and was recently serviced and gone through to make it a wonderful driver. The Jaguar presented here is mostly original, meaning it has original 56 year sold paint. We have provided a numbers of videos and detailed pictures to illustrate the overall condition. This is NOT a car in need of restoration. It is a driver and should be driven. The car runs and drives excellent. It has excellent compression of 150 to 155 psi on all 6 cylinders. It maintains excellent oil pressure and the temperature even on the hottest of North Carolina days. This stunning Jaguar came with factory power steering which operates flawlessly. Also, it originally came equipped with factory Air Conditioning and although the AC is complete with parts etc., it is currently inoperable.

The Jaguar E-type we are offering is a wonderful driving car and ready to be taken of driving tours or used as a driver anywhere the next owner chooses. This is truly a special find of a the very drivable and desirable Series 2 Jaguar E-type Fixed Head Coupe. A great Jaguar with unique history and ready for its next owner to enjoy long term.

$60,000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
