Reserve Collection Listing - Truly Breathtaking car

Very unique S2 Jaguar E TYPE FHC finished in willow green over black leather interior. This 1970 Series 2 has been owned by a well known car enthusiast and collector for over 30 years and will be featured in a new book "Me and My E-Type "Coming march 2019! The owner spared no expense in performance and reliability upgrades as well as many preferred aesthetics including, but certainly not limited to, a 20k S1 Covered Headlamp conversion. This E features a completely rebuilt original 4.2 engine, 4 speed transmission and an upgraded rear end to a European version 3.07 ratio make this one of the very finest driving Jaguars in the United States. Unlike many early Jaguars, this incredible coupe, with a simple pull of the choke, fires right up and runs / drives with incredible power. Enjoy smooth shifting through all gears and unparalleled driving speeds compared to a "standard" S2 as well as safe acceleration to 100mph+ with the aforementioned rear end, absence of cooling issues and modern radial backdated tires. If you are not familiar with vintage Jags please do expect the usual spotting under her if sitting for a while - this is without exception a standard with these cars.
The many highlights of this incredible Jag include a new zinc coated fuel tank to avoid potential adverse effects of Ethanol gas, an Airtex fuel pump makes for solid fuel reliability and first and foremost and the entire electrical system connections have been "double grounded" to circumvent well known Jaguar gremlins. Under the bonnet are more upgrades including a 1 wire alternator, aluminum radiator and an adjustable electric fan. These of course were to address the most common issues with E-Type cars. Other modifications include vented performance front rotors, covered headlights with halogen sealed beams, series 1 exhaust, Lotus Elan taillights, sealed ball joints, earlier polished valve covers, triple SUs restored and performance tuned by Joe Curto hinself, Series 1 seats (original to the car - series 2 seats are comparable seat but only with a headrest now deleted), wire wheels w S1 original knockoffs (a new wooded knockoff wrench/socket included) and these with 6" offsets wrapped by new Michelin radials which have been professionally de-labeled on the outer face and have had the vintage red line band molded to present as vintage tires but with reliability, safety and performance.

While the AC system has been updated in her lifetime the system is antiquated and requires regular maintenance, a complete 5k+ Retro Air model specific system is included new in the box with the car (While complete pre-sale services have been done, our pending facility change has limited our technicians to priority only issues thus we have not installed the new system)

Additionally the new owner will find a a stealth Bose featured audio system allowing use of your tablet or smartphone as an audio source. This easily removable system adds the option of entertainment without altering the aesthetics of this vintage Jag. No speakers or permanent modification(s) are cut into the car whatsoever.

This cars Books, keys and service records are included along with the heritage certificate and showroom brochures.

There are no issues with this rare Jaguar. Yes, the engine bay is that clean. This being said, a couple of ground rules are merited here . . . please, our staff is not in need of a history lesson, directives re authenticity, someone to "market" her for us nor will the staff entertain car bashers. If you want to flip it to your "customer in Europe" then buy it and add your fee . . . please don't ask us to facilitate your profit margin nor draw up falsified documents to circumvent VAT/Taxes. Additionally, If you have "0", unpaid buyer or no feedback please contact the store before buying. If you are an international customer we have solid relationships re shipping facilitation and the process will not only be safe it will be cost effective. Note: Many vintage cars do not have a "title" but instead include a transferable registration.

This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II fixed-head coupe that was acquired by the current owner in 2018 from the previous owner of 30 years, automotive author Joseph V. Limongelli. The car was refurbished and modified during Mr. Limongelli’s ownership, and work included a repaint in Willow Green and reupholstering the black leather interior, along with rebuilds of the numbers-matching 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six and four-speed manual gearbox. Equipment includes 15″ knock-off wire wheels, headlight covers, Lotus Elan taillights, triple SU carburetors, Gran Turismo vented brake rotors, XJ6 electronic ignition, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, Vintage Air air conditioning, and a custom audio system. An oil change and inspection were carried out in anticipation of the sale, along with resealing the oil pan. This XKE is now offered on dealer consignment with service records, literature, a tool kit, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Oregon title.

The body was reportedly sanded to the metal and refinished in Willow Green with new glass and window seals. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, European-style headlight covers, a louvered hood, an XJ6 power antenna, and Lotus Elan taillights with integrated reverse lights.

Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured with winged knock-offs and wrapped in Michelin redline tires. XJ40 lower ball joints have been installed, and braking is provided by Gran Turismo vented rotors, rebuilt calipers, and a replacement master cylinder.

The cabin has been reupholstered and features black leather bucket seats with deleted headrests and sound deadening material beneath the carpets. Additional equipment includes XJ40 sun visors, a Vintage Air climate-control system, branded rubber floor mats, and an aftermarket audio system with Bose speakers.

The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, with the total mileage unknown.

The numbers-matching engine was reportedly rebuilt with 9:1 compression-ratio pistons in 2000 and features rebuilt triple SU carburetors. Additional equipment includes the following:

Replacement wiring harness

XJ6 electronic ignition

Pertronix ignition coil

Series 3 ignition switch

General Motors alternator

Re-zinced fuel tank

Airtex fuel lines and electric fuel pump

Custom aluminum radiator

Electric fan

XJ6 exhaust manifold and heat shield

Spin-on oil filter

Series 1 exhaust system

An oil change was carried out in anticipation of the sale, along with resealing the oil pan.

The four-speed manual transmission was also reportedly rebuilt, and additional modifications are said to include a lightened flywheel and a 3.07:1 rear differential.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and identification numbers and shows a manufacture date of January 20, 1970.

The car is featured in the previous owner’s book, Me and My E-Type: A Jaguar Adventure, and a signed copy is included in the sale.
