Opening bid US $55,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction, seller, buy it now price $69,500, seller westcoastclassics, 68k miles, car now said to be in Santa Monica, California.

Sellers description:
West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this very original and rust free example of a 1970 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series II coupe with a 4 speed manual transmission and the 6 cylinder 4.2L/246HP engine and beautifully repainted in 'British Racing Green' with a 'Biscuit' leather interior, all it's original factory tools, knock off mallet, jack, owner's manual and all five original Jaguar chrome wire wheels!

The car is believed to have only some 68K original miles as reported by its previous ownership who kept a hand written log from 57K miles when purchased in 1999 and the car will be sold with this log book and service records. The floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has a razor straight body with no signs of any accidents and no rust. It's striking 'British Racing Green' color paint is in exceptionally fine condition and the car looks extremely impressive with a lovely 'Tan' (Biscuit) leather interior which is in complete and mostly all original condition with the door panels, headliner, dashboard and carpets all in very fine condition. The car has a chrome spare wire wheel, tools, mallet, wooden knock off remover and jack located in the trunk.

This is an extremely rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and rust free example of a razor straight and unmodified 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II 4.2L 2 seater coupe (not 2+2) in exceptionally fine condition throughout being offered as a wonderful collectible for any British classic car lover or indeed as an addition to any serious collection!

Car currently on 7-day auction on Bring A Trailer as of March 26 2020

bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-jaguar-xke-coupe-11/

This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe is powered by a 4.2L inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The seller purchased the car in 2017, and service in January 2020 reportedly included a tune-up as well as rebuilding the twin Stromberg carburetors. The exterior has been refinished in British Racing Green, and the interior is trimmed in tan leather with matching carpets and door panels. This Series II coupe is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a spare tire, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The exterior was finished in Willow Green from the factory, and it was repainted in its current British Racing Green at an unknown time under previous ownership.

Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear 215/65 Falken Pro Touring A/S tires that were reportedly installed in 2019. Distinguishing features of the Series II included taillights mounted below the wrap-around rear bumper, larger front marker lamps, and uncovered headlight buckets.

The interior is trimmed in tan leather with matching carpets and door panels and a black dashboard. A modern Kenwood stereo head unit is installed ahead of the shifter, and an aftermarket cupholder hangs on the passenger side of the center console.

A wood-rimmed factory steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges to monitor battery voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 70k miles, approximately 1,800 of which are said to have been added by the seller.

The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six features twin Stromberg carburetors and was factory rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The carburetors were rebuilt and the ignition tuned in January 2020, and the seller states that the cylinder head was resurfaced in 2019. According to the seller, other recent maintenance included a replacement starter, distrubutor, battery, fuel filter, thermostat, and installing new freeze plugs.

Engine number 7R10436-9 matches the stamping on the car’s identification plate and the number noted on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate

Car has a buy it now price of $69,900 for 29 days, seller vfinemotorcars, 70k miles.

Seller's description:

This 1970 Jaguar E-Type coupe is finished in British racing green over tan leather and is powered by a 4.2 Liter inline six paired with a manual 4 speed transmission. Equipment includes 15" wheels, front wheel disc brakes and rear drums. The inline six is rated at 240hp with 264 ft-lbs. This car sounds fantastic when running, the 4 speed manual transmission shifts great and has a firm clutch. Total production was one 6,732 of these cars in 1970 this car shows great paint and door jams and hood and trunk appears to be tight and straight. This car is a driver and fires up each time there are a few things to note such as the ignition does stick a little when starting and there is a little white smoke coming out of the right exhaust pipe, headlights are currently not hooked up and the car is not driven at night. Previous owners have taken great care of this car and kept it in the garage with hand written log books and manual and each owner has enjoyed this car and driven it. This is not a concours or trailer queen and is ready for the next owner to enjoy. The car is currently located in Austin, Tx.
