Car was at auction in '07
    www.classicauctions.co.uk/lotdetail.php

    Auction description:
    Kempton Park Racecourse
    Lot : 20
    1970 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 2+2
    Estimate: £8000 - 10000
    Mileage: 76195
    Colour: REGENCY RED
    Trim Colour: BLACK
    Chassis No: IR35965
    Engine No: 7R402309
    Registration No: PAK839H
    M.O.T: SEPT 2007
Finished in Regency Red with black leather upholstery, this particular example is variously described by the vendor as being in "good" (electrical equipment, chassis, bodywork), "very good" (engine, four-speed manual gearbox) or "original / decent" (interior trim) condition. Though, he considers that the paintwork is "in need of a revamp" and the wheels / tyres "need checking due to age". Reportedly the subject of a four-year restoration soon after entering the current ownership in 1988, 'PAK 839H' is understood to have benefited from a refurbished back axle (new bearings, discs etc), engine overhaul (reground crankshaft, new pistons, timing chains, clutch, carburettors, unleaded cylinder head) and rejuvenated ancillaries (radiator, alternator, starter). While, bodily the E-type was apparently treated to "a new bonnet, boot floor, inner wheel arches, sills and outer rear wheel arch repair kit". Believed but not warranted to have covered just 76,000 miles from new (with only 5,000 of those being accumulated during the last fifteen years), more recent work has included the installation of "new front brake callipers". Riding on steel wheels, this practical yet elegant Jaguar coupe is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until September 13th 2007 and historic class (free) road tax until July 31st 2007.

For sale at the Classic and Sports Car Centre near Malton for £59,995. Abbreviated seller's description below. www.classicandsportscar.ltd.uk/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-II-4.2-2+2/classic-cars-for- ...

PAK839H is a matching numbers car UK car that was supplied new on 22nd June 1970in Regency Red with Black leather trim interior to j Sylvester Engineering Co Ltd, Bradford. The E Type was distributed out of the Automobile Centre in Leeds, dispatched to Appleyard Turf Motors and has resided between Yorkshire and Lancashire its entire life. Paperwork with the car tells us the Jaguar had left Yorkshire and was in Accrington, Lancashire by 1976 and in 1988 the E Type changed hands again staying in the same town and with the next owner for the next 19 years. In 2007 we bought the E Type and sold the car to a family friend in Sheffield who has owned the car for 11 years.

Now 48 years old, the E Type has come back to us even better and more proven. 11 years, 8000 miles and a couple of trips to Le Mans later the E Type has driven faultlessly from Sheffield. PAK839H has demonstrated exactly what we described back in 2007. It has proven totally reliable, it now has long distance touring experience over onto the continent and can be driven with absolute confidence. It is quite simply superb on the road. Handling feels top class as expected with the rebuilt front end, the engine runs perfectly with excellent oil pressure, it offers impressive performance and just feels and sounds right.

The E Type is certainly not a show car, its one to really drive and is capable as proven for long distance touring or simply regular use. This is an E Type to get out on the open road, it will certainly not disappoint and will offer lots of fun, reliable motoring and has the provenance of being a matching numbers UK car in its original colours.
