Ebay item 11/22/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $26,255 reserve not met, 13 bids 1 day left in auction. 81k miles.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XK-E 6 cylinder convertible. It has been in the same ownership since 1990 and always garaged . The car was cosmetically restored sometime back inthe 1980's and still looks very nice. The paint shines up well and the body is rust free. There is no previous damage evident. The body is very straight and all panels are smooth. Hood, doors, trunk all close easily and line up well. There are few small dings etc. that do not even photograph. They are there. The chrome is good overall and straight. No exterior trim items are missing. Glass and lenses are all there and in good shape. No cracks. The windshield is tinted and chip free. The interior could use some attention. The dash cap is cracked and the plastic cold start handle is missing. The handle itself is there and operable. All the gauges are there and working. The oil pressure gauge is a little finicky, but OP has been tested and is fine. There is a problem with the gauge or sending unit. Seats are in fine shape, no rips or tears. The top is brand new and the boot is in great shape. Carpets are all there and in good shape. Door panels as well. Needs a shift knob. Steering wheel is original and excellent. No cracks or bends. Electrics are good with all lights and accessories working. Mechanically, the car runs out fine. No overheating or funny noises. Crusies effortlessly on the highway. Drives straight, brakes straight. Clutch is fine due to recent hydraulic replacement. Red line tires and exhaust system are new so no issues there.

This is a really nice, old, unmolested Jag that has been in longtime ownership and has seen only sporadic use. Always stored properly, covered indoors on a trickle charger and started regularly; it needs to be driven and used. There are no major scaries here. This is a better than average, better than "Entry Level" car. It is not tango-ing across the periodic table on the way to being a coral reef. With some pretty basic, home enthusiast type attention, you will improve immesurably your original investment. This is 40+ year old car. It will need items addressed as it used more frequently. If you find this kind of behavior specific to unrequited love unsettling, collect stamps

THE VIN IS J691R9720. THERE IS A SMALL SILVER TAG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHEILD POST WITH 1R9720. THIS IS A #S MATCHING CAR.

Achieved $29K but still not reserve in December. Reserve was said to be $33K which is highish for eBay but not bad retail if the car is solid and roadworthy.

The bonnet is a hybrid and is NOT correct for the car. The price bid is ALL the money considering a bonnet swap is expensive.

Imported into the United Kingdom from the United States in 2013 and collected by Moss Jaguar to restore for a customer. Their assessment of car was that it was a matching numbers car in exceptional structural condition, completely solid and straight. The bonnet was inconsistent and investigation revealed that it had series 1.5 centre wings and under panels with series 2 lower valence and diaphragms.

It underwent a full nut and bolt restoration with customer upgrades. Restored from November 2014 to April 2015 and featured under projects at www.mossjaguar.com . The engine was re-built and upgraded by VSE to VSE stage 2 specification with triple carburettors with a 2.88 differential . A replacement was bonnet was sourced in North Yorkshire and the bonnet that came with the car was discarded.

The exterior colour was repainted from pale primrose to signal red and the interior re-trimmed by Hutsons of Bradford from black to biscuit. It was delivered to the customer in April 2015,
