I'm starting a 1969 Roadster restoration.
My vin is 1R9796 and engine number is 7E17843-9.
It appears that the engine is older than the car.
How close do the numbers have to be for a numbers matching car?

verything is original, matching numbers car.
The motor start and run very smooth. The macanic was redone ten years ago. Have an ANSA exhaust sytem, special individual manifold pipe. The car have two set of DELORTO TURBO performance carburator. The car needs brake, floor pan, rockers. Anyways as you can see the car need a total restoration to be back is glory days. The car is complet with many new parts and boxes, like all the rubbers kits. Many interior panel was changed ten years ago and still in very good shape. The bonnet is in excellent condition, some section was replaced with SNG barrat sheet metal like the underpan and the right front fender section.
