The Vendor acquired this RHD Manual V12 E-Type Roadster in 1997, and the previous owner acquired it in 1977,with 5 recorded keepers before that. The vendor had major works done to improve and upgrade the car including. Later Jaguar Fuel Injection engine and ancillaries air con, and a six speed gearbox conversion (details to follow) . The car was then taken to Cyprus where the vendor had a home, but it was so expensive to register there that it was put into storage. Whilst it was there the carpet was eaten by ants so the car was sent to a local repairer who removed the seats etc to repair, but never finished .The car was removed from here and sent to storage where it was badly stored and wiring was eaten by what is believed to be mice. The years in storage have taken their toll and the car will need some renovation and recommisioning . It is hoped to get the car running and driving before going to Auction and we will update this description when this is done. A Great chance to acquire a Series 3 E-Type Roadster with very desirable upgrades as listed below.

Originally registered on 6th March 1972, this Jaguar is a genuine UK supplied righthand drive example. This well sorted car benefits from a fuel injected HE engine and a Richmond six speed gearbox, it is described by its engineer owner as being a sensational drive that certainly isn’t for the ‘faint-hearted’. The mechanical enhancements have been matched by photographic rebuild which included a quality respray and the fitting of a new interior, the pinnacle of which is a stunning wooden dashboard with later dials. This powerful Coventry cat has also, reassuringly, received a new braking system. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and recent MoT test certificate, this increasingly popular model is available without reserve.

Car at auction 11/25
online.doningtonauctions.com.au/m/lot-details/index/catalog/262/lot/66940/
Auction description:
Location: Melbourne
1971 Jaguar E-type Series 3
Lightly used iconic classic
5.3 litre V12 engine
Concours winner
Striking icon
Chassis number: IS1060
Engine number: 7S4245SA
Registration number: FBK-508 (Victoria)
This 1971 Jaguar E-type has lived a very quiet life during the past few years of its current ownership.
Previous custodian Trevor Burgess, a Geelong (Victoria) based Boeing 747 pilot, had the car fully restored (it was completed in 1993) and it went on to win the Jaguar Concours at Albert Park (Melbourne) the following year.
Our vendor bought the E-type around 15 years ago and irregularly used, though he tells us that it has been religiously started and driven a short distance (around five kilometres) every month since then. That aside, it has also been looked after regularly by Jaguar guru, Mike Roddy.
So, not surprisingly, this ’71 E-type presents beautifully inside and out.
To celebrate the E-type’s life, in 1974 Jaguar chose to have the last-ever 50 cars manufactured – barring the very last one, which was painted British Racing Green – painted Black with Tan trim, and this car has been refinished in a homage to those models.
Now indicating 4806 miles, its paintwork remains in excellent condition, as does the leather trim, while the chromed wire wheels shod with thin whitewalls tyres present equally well.
A beautiful car, this E-type comes with its tools for the knock-off hubs, a copy of the original Jaguar handbook, and various receipts.
The Jaguar E-type is a classic icon, one that most enthusiasts would love to have in their garage. And if it is a V12 you are after, this might well be the best example in Australia.
