Lot Details
Registration: XGU 915M RHD/LHD: Right Hand Drive
Year: 1973 Engine size: 5.4L
Make: Jaguar Odometer reading (miles): 61000
Model: E-Type Series III V12 Roadster MOT expiry: 2017-12-21
Chassis number: 1S2096BW

Navy Blue mohair soft-top, matching hood cover and a full matching tonneau cover. I also have an original factory hard-top in the same colour. The hard top I think has not been on the car for 35 years or so, the back screen is out but I have got it. It needs a new rubber replacing at the bottom of the hard top and needs the chrome trim that inserts into the rubber plus one chrome fitting that connects the hard top to the car. There is also a scratch on the hardtop which I have photographed. The car has always been kept in a heated garage and the bodywork, wheels, and engine are all in very good condition, with lots of relevant bills.

Remarks

I had the seats, headrests etc re-trimmed approx 12 years ago. French Blue leather with Navy Blue carpets with Cream piping. It has a Moto-Lita steering wheel on it at the moment but I still have the original steering wheel which will accompany the car.

The engine was rebuilt approx 15 years ago. Stainless-steel exhaust. New shocks a few years ago, anything needed doing has just been done.

I have owned the car for 40 years having bought it from Hexagons in Highgate who specialised in E-Types at the time. It's a 1973, V12 E-Type Roadster, matching engine and chassis number car and has done 60,905 genuine miles at this time. I have most of the MOTs to corroborate the mileage, a lot of the bills, and a folder about two inches thick with all the car's history from the last 40 years or so. I also have the original Bill of Sale, original handbook, a number of older MOTs, and other bits and pieces including trophies from shows I have taken the car to.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
