During the last twenty years XK engineering have been responsible for rebuilding and restoring a lot of the show winning examples from the Jaguar factory. They are acknowledged experts and have always managed to have many concours successes in their photo albums.
This particular example was, as many were, originally a fixed head coupe that was converted to its roadster specification during the restoration. The body shell has been strengthened as the originals, and, upon inspection, it must be said that this must be one of the best examples available anywhere. The present owner and vendor purchased the car only some 18 months ago, but unfortunately he is reluctantly having to sell the car due to a house move. It comes with a lovely photographic history file and copies of bills that have been spent since it was purchased by the present owner, which have only covered routine maintenance and general specialist upkeep.
There would seem to be absolutely nothing further to spend on this vehicle and its estimate today suggests that the lucky new owner could buy the car of his dreams for somewhat less than half of the cost of the original rebuild.
