This 1971 Jaguar project features a custom fiberglass body and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The car is said to have been constructed between 2005 and 2011, and was acquired by the seller as a project in 2019. Equipment includes a louvered hood, an egg-crate grille, an aluminum radiator and fuel tank, six downdraft Weber carburetors, Wilwood front disc brakes and pedals, Afco coilover shocks, 16″ alloy wheels, and a dual exhaust system. Work under current ownership included replacement of the clutch and flywheel. This custom Jaguar project is offered at no reserve with a headlight lens mold, a pair of door skins, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The custom fiberglass body is finished in green primer, and the car features a bright eggcrate-style grille, hood louvers, and dual sidepipes that exit before the rear wheels. Polished velocity stacks are exposed through the hood while the fuel filler cap is exposed through the decklid. The seller notes that the right front headlight lens is broken and has been removed, though a mold to create a replacement is included in the sale.

Five-spoke 16″ alloy wheels wear staggered-width Sumitomo HTR+ tires that seller notes should be replaced due to age. The car features four-wheel independent suspension with Afco coilover shocks. Braking is from four-wheel discs with Wilwood calipers up front and inboard-mounted discs at the rear.

The cockpit features low-back bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as exposed floors and chassis structural members. Equipment includes lap belts, a battery mounted behind the passenger seat, Wilwood pedals, and a battery cutoff switch in the passenger footwell.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts Smith instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and secondary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and a voltmeter. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 50 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with six two-barrel Weber downdraft carburetors with polished velocity stacks, a Howe aluminum radiator, an aluminum fuel tank with a Holley external fuel pump, and a dual exhaust system. The seller notes an oil leak from the rear main seal and that the carburetors need to be tuned.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The clutch and flywheel are said to have been replaced under current ownership.

A pair of door skins and a mold to create a new passenger headlight cover are included in the sale.

The car is registered as Planned Non-Operation in the state of California.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
