This 1972 Jaguar XKE is a Series III 2+2 coupe that was reportedly purchased new by the seller’s father and parked after his passing in 1996. The car was later inherited by the seller and features a 5.3-liter V12 with four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors that has not been started since the mid-1990s. The body is finished in white over a blue leather interior, and additional features include a four-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, four-wheel disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension, quad exhaust outlets, and 15″ steel wheels. This XKE V12 project is now offered at no reserve with a tool kit, jack, a repair operation manual, and a clean West Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in white and shows paint bubbling on the hood and rocker panels, as well as body damage on the nose and the edges of the hood. Exterior features include a driver-side mirror, US-market side markers, chrome bumpers, and quad exhaust outlets. Rust repair was reportedly conducted by the seller’s father, and the seller also notes that the body requires repainting and replacement rubber mounts.
15″ steel wheels wear Jaguar hubcaps, trim rings, and 215/65 Mastercraft Stratus AS tires. The XKE Series III featured power steering and upgraded brakes when compared to Series II cars.
The cabin features seats trimmed in dark blue leather along with blue carpeting and a black dashboard and center console. Equipment includes air conditioning and an AM/FM radio. Tears in the passenger seat cushion and center armrest are visible, and the seller notes that the drooping headliner should be replaced.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Central auxiliary gauges monitor voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The center dash also houses a Kienzle analog clock and rocker switches. The five-digit odometer shows just under 73k miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 features four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and has reportedly not run since approximately 1996. The seller has not attempted to start the engine. The air pump and other pollution control devices have been removed and are included in the sale.
The engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The seller reports peeling paint and corrosion on the frame, and corrosion is visible on exhaust components.
A Repair Operation Manual is included in the sale along with a replacement left-front fender, carburetor kits, and additional spare parts.
