Ebay item 10/6/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Jaguar-E-Type/273492566096
Starting bid: $37,999.95 reserve not met no bids 4 days left in auction buy it now price $39,999.95 seller dragonfireracecar, car now in Houston, Texas, 33k miles.

Seller's description:
Quick buyer wanted! Owned by a man for over 10 years who has reached an age where he can no longer bend down to get into the car, or go for a drive and push in the clutch multiple times. The car has been sitting for about two years now and he decided it's time for someone else to enjoy it. Car has been repainted and the interior freshened up in the last year. All of the gauges are working. The car is located in central Texas where the weather reaches triple digits during summer months and the car has never overheated.

Aftermarket Upgrades
This car has been upgraded with a more modern fuel-injected 5.3L engine as well as a rear-end pumpkin and wheels from a 1989 XJS that truly transforms the car's aesthetic appeal and driveability: cold-start issues are no longer a problem and improved fuel mileage over the stock carburetors are a bonus. Rear axle ratio of 2.88:1 removes the need for a five-speed transmission. Original wheels will be included with the car.

This 1973 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 is finished in dark blue over blue upholstery, and during prior ownership a fuel-injected 5.3-liter V12 was installed and mated to its four-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications include a Kenwood CD stereo and adjustable suspension components along with a rear differential and 16″ alloy wheels sourced from a later Jaguar model, and the car is also equipped with air conditioning, a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, and Smiths gauges. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2018, and maintenance since 2020 included service of the fuel system, replacement of the battery, and an oil change. This XKE is now offered with service records, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Florida title.

The bodywork was refinished in dark blue during prior ownership. Equipment includes a dual mirrors, chrome bumpers with overriders, and polished stainless-steel exhaust tips. Flaws in the finish are detailed in the gallery below.

Alloy 16″ wheels from a later Jaguar model are fitted with 225/55 Yokohama S.drive tires that were mounted in 2010. The car is equipped with inboard rear disc brakes, and the suspension is modified with adjustable GAZ shocks with adjustable-perch rear coilover springs.

The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in blue upholstery, along with matching door panels and a black dashboard. Equipment includes air conditioning, a wooden shift knob, and a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood CD stereo hooked to an aftermarket amplifier and speakers. The air-conditioning system was converted to R134a refrigerant, and the rear seat has been replaced by an enclosure containing audio components and the ECU.

The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instruments including a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, and ancillary gauges are mounted in a central panel. The odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.

The fuel-injected 5.3-liter V12 was sourced from a later Jaguar model and installed in 2012. Service prior to the installation included pressure-testing, repairing, and machining the heads, performing a valve job, and replacing seals, gaskets, fuel-injection hoses, and ignition components. The fuel tank and other fuel system components were replaced in October 2020, and a replacement battery was installed in March 2021.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission paired with a differential sourced from a later Jaguar model and equipped with a 2.88:1 final-drive ratio.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the original configuration and colors, along with a production date of January 3, 1973.

Service records dating to 2007 are included in the sale, along with manufacturer’s literature, driving gloves, and a digital service manual.
