I'm finding that any car with the 2R prefix are a late production run and the only cars with the Jaguar Leaper on both sides of the bonnet. I would love to know how many were imported to the states? Thanks

Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer
This 1971 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster finished in yellow over black leather, and it is powered by a 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, a Sanyo CD/cassette stereo, an aluminum radiator, power-assisted steering, chrome-finished knock-off wire wheels, dual Stromberg carburetors, and an Ansa exhaust system. The car was recently acquired by the selling dealer from its previous owner of 21 years, and subsequent service included an oil change, a tune-up, and replacement of the spark plugs. This XKE roadster is now offered in Pennsylvania with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean New Jersey title.
The car was refinished in its current yellow during prior ownership according to the selling dealer, who notes rust repair was performed at that time. The black convertible top is shown raised and lowered in the gallery, and additional features include chrome-finished bumpers with guards as well as a dual-exit Ansa exhaust system.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels secured with short-eared knock-offs wear Michelin red-stripe tires. Braking is managed by four-wheel discs, and the car is equipped with power steering. The interior features bucket seats upholstered in black leather with a matching console, door panels, and carpeting. A Sanyo CD/cassette stereo is linked to Pioneer and Sony speakers, and shoulder belts are equipped for both occupants.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 64k miles, approximately 30 of which have been added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six features twin Stromberg carburetors and was factory rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An aluminum radiator equipped with dual cooling fans was fitted under prior ownership, while work in preparation for the sale included an inspection, replacement of the spark plugs, and an engine oil change. Engine-block stamping 7R 129879-9 matches the engine number listed on the data plate and also on the JHT certificate.
Materials accompanying the vehicle include a jack, wheel-removal hardware, and a storage bag.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and component numbers, as well as initial distribution through British Leyland in New York in September 1970.

The leapers and chrome around the mouth appeared with the 2R prefix. Most if not all of the 2R cars are the '71 model year.
