Advertised for sale in The E-type magazine No 123 February 2015. Seller's description: "A genuine Right Hand Drive car only 11 chassis numbers from the original Lightweight E-Types and with only around 800 miles since it was completed by E-type specialists LWR Ltd (Paul Webb & Mike Harris - who re-built the Ken Baker car) in 1988. 3857WK has been built with aluminium bonnet, doors, roof and boot lid as per the factory cars. Jaguar's former competition engine builder George Hodge (Jaguar works engine maestro) built the engine for power and reliability.
Brakes are AP with Leda adjustable suspension making this E-type just as comfortable on the road or track. Also suitable for any of the many historic road rallies and could easily be converted to full FIA specification should you wish to race the car. Finished in Flag Blue Metallic (Ecurie Ecosse Colours) and with its original Jaguar registration number of 3857WK. Featured in the 4th edition of Jaguar Quarterly Publication in 1989 and recently in the August 2014 edition. The mileage reflects the virtually new condition of this car (the George Hodge engine is not yet run in).

I ordered this car at the Motor Show in October 1962 and took delivery of it at the factory in April 1963. I was so excited that I drove 20 miles north up the M1 before I realised that London was the other way! I drove it all over Europe fr 60,000 miles in the following three years and then sold it to make way for the 4.2. I tried to locate it again in the late 80's but could not. I understand that it was rebuilt around a factory aluminium tub but cannot confirm this.

First registered by Jaguar Cars on 11 April 1963 for personal export delivery, it retains its original registration. For sale privately in November 2014 and then through the Runneymeade Motor Company from February 2015. Runneymeade displayed the car on their stand at Race Retro at Stoneleigh Park from 20 to 22 February 2015 and listed it on their website from April 2015.

It was rebuilt in 1988 by Paul Webb and Mike Harris of LWR to lightweight specification for use as a road car. Fitted with aluminium bonnet, doors, roof and boot lid; the engine was rebuilt by George Hodge, formerly the competition engine builder for Jaguar. Finished in flag blue and trimmed in black hide with a matching carpet. A civilised car that would be equally at home on the road or the circuit. £235,000.
