Chassis 860348 a 1962 FHC in Black with a Black interior, sold at Barons Sandown Auction on 27th Jun 2000 ( estimate £10000-£22000 ), hammer price including premium was £9030, was described as Condition 3. Car never turned a wheel after auction, being dry stored for the next 17 years.
It sold again on the 19th March 2017 at the Goodwood members meeting auction. Described as un-restored and unmolested, requires re-commissioning. This Series 1 E-Type FHC is an original right-hand drive UK-supplied car that retains matching chassis, engine, and registration numbers. An un-restored example which has been part of an East Sussex private collection since 2000 and has been garage stored, unused since acquisition. Gentle re-commissioning will be required before it returns to the road. Offered with a V5 registration document, 'JSO 580' represents an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire an un-restored and unmolested Series 1 E-Type coupe.
Sold for £92,220 inc. premium
That's a tidy return for parking your E-type for 17 years and not a penny in petrol !!!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
