All mechcanicals completely restored to a very high standard. Exceptional interior, soft top and glass. One repaint since new. No rust. An exceptional car that can be driven and enjoyed. Reasonable offer considered.

    Sellers description:
    1961 Jaguar XKE Roadster
S/N 875792. Maroon/tan, 66k miles, rust-free, cosmetically and mechanically restored, synchro trans, for high-quality street use.

The original transmision would have been the non-synchro "crash-box". What was it replaced with, and at what cost and with what problems, if any?

Great car - I undertook a repaint and gave it a good cleaning. Abused chrome pieces were replaced

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
