Seller's description:
This Jaguar E-Type series 1 Open Two Seater is a recent restoration finished in Carmen red over black with a new black cloth top and new black short and long tonneau covers. The current owner purchased the vehicle in the fall of 2018 as a partially restored project with, among other upgrades, a rebuilt engine, new clutch and new bonnet.

Although titled at the local Registry as a 1963 model, according to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate obtained by the current owner, this E-type was manufactured on March 20, 1962 with an original colour of Opalescent Bronze (traces of which are found behind the dash). It is one of the very few body styles which bridge the time shortly after the replacement of the flat floor footwell (January,1962) but before the manufacturing change to the door skins (April,1962) and the recesses introduced in the rear bulkhead (May,1962). The early date of production is confirmed by handwritten notations on the revolution counter (17/3/62) and clock (1962 Feb). It was imported to Montreal, Canada as a Personal Export Delivery in April of 1962.

This E-Type was the subject of a full restoration over two years. The body was repainted in a single stage urethane Carmen red colour cut and polished to a high standard. The depth of colour and shine is stunning,

The bonnet shell was finished with new headlamps, headlamp scoops, horns and a new wiring harness and motif bar. The chrome bumpers and signal lights are original and in top condition.

The seats were stripped and all new seat cushions were sourced. A GW Bartlett Co black Dealer Specification Leather interior was installed, including a new GW Bartlett sourced carpet set and new black lap seat belts. DynaMat style sound and heat insulation was added to the floor, transmission tunnel and rear bulkhead. The new top is black cloth. The speedometer, revolution counter, clock, and water temperature and oil pressure gauges were rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments of New York. The odometer currently shows 12,836 miles (not verified).

In addition to the rebuilt engine (not "numbers matching" but a period correct 3.8 litre) and new clutch, a new fuel tank and fuel pump were installed, the front suspension was rebuilt, a new battery and regulator fitted and new upgraded 4 piston front brake callipers and brake discs were installed.

The triple SU carburetters were rebuilt and polished to a high standard and new hydraulic clutch master and slave cylinders and both master hydraulic brake cylinders were replaced. Cooling is assisted by an uprated aluminum framed electric fan which replaces the old single blade mechanical one. A high torque starter was also installed.

The doors were furnished with new winding and locking mechanisms and new door locks. A stainless steel exhaust has been fitted.

This beautiful E-Type rides on new front Dayton wire wheels with four new chrome spin off winged centres and wears four new Universal brand 185HR 15 Red Line radial tires.

This is the 60th anniversary of the stunning reveal of the first E-Type Jaguar in March of 1961 in Geneva. This is a fine example of the E-Type - one of "the most beautiful cars ever made” ranked by The Daily Telegraph as first on a list of the most beautiful cars of all time .

The car is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and is a private sale by a long time Jaguar enthusiast.
