Odometer: 14,912 (Mi)
Seller: Champs37 Private Party
This 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is finished in British Racing Green over a tan leather interior. Refinished 2 years ago, power is derived from a 3.8-liter inline-6 cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Owned by the seller for 2 years, the odometer shows over 14K miles, though true mileage is unknown. This Series I is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, records from the past 30 years, and a clean Arizona title in the seller's name.
Finished in the classic shade of British Racing Green, the car received a full refinish approximately 2 years ago where the color was changed from its factory shade of Cream. Compared to later models, Series I cars featured covered headlamps, a smaller grille, and tail lights mounted above the rear bumper. A new black soft top was fitted in January 2020, replacing the Sand colored factory one.
The polished 15” wire-spoke wheels feature winged knock-off spinners. Hercules MRX Plus IV measuring 197/75-15 are equipped on all four corners. The braking system consists of discs all around, with the inboard-mounted rear rotors.
From the factory, the interior was finished with maroon seats, carpet, and interior panels but has since been changed to Tan. An aluminum-trimmed center console is also fitted between the seats, housing the factory gear lever with leather shift boot. The original radio has since been replaced with an aftermarket Clarion head unit.
A 3-spoke wheel with wood rim sits ahead of factory Smiths instrumentation, consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6K-rpm tachometer. An aluminum trim panel surrounds the center section of the dash and contains gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, water temperature, and voltage. 14,912 miles are shown on the five-digit analog odometer which is not original to the car. In 2 years of ownership, the seller has added 910 miles.
The matching numbers 3.8-liter DOHC inline-6 is original to the car and factory rated 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine retains its factory SU triple carburetor setup along with polished valve covers and gloss black exhaust manifold. Power is transferred to the rear through a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine, suspension, and cooling system were rebuilt in 2017 by the previous owner, additionally the fuel pump, clutch, and exhaust system were replaced.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate lists a build date of July 3, 1962, along with the factory colors and the chassis, body, engine, and gearbox numbers
The car is documented with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and comes with the majority of service records from the past 30 years.
