LOW MILES COLLECTORS 1964 Jaguar XKE

Miles: 67450 Doors: 2 doors

Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1964
VIN Number: CV880037 Exterior: White

The Jaguar XKE is a 265 HP, 150 MPH British sports car. From 1961-1975, nothing else at this price could compete with its combination of great beauty and amazing performance. It remains one of the all-time great sports cars. My wife and I are the third owner of this beatiful XKE, which was originally sold in Westminster California in October of 1963. We purchased this car in 1999 from the second owner in Eastern Washington. We have spent more than
$ 52,000 updating this car to current excellent condition. This vehicle has no prior collision damage. The body is very straight, with no bondo. New floor pans. The car was repainted white in 1981, and the paint is good. The engine runs strongly, and does not leak more than a drop or two of oil or fluids. The car is well maintained and has a brand new interior, top and carpets. The series 1 XKE OTC is a very desirable and collectable vehicle and promises the driving and ownership thrill of a lifetime. These cars currently appriciate at about 2-5% per year and make an excellent investment. The current market price for this vehicle is $ 56,100 in excel condition, and $ 33,000 in good # 3 condition. I believe that the market value of this car is $ at least $ 40,000 currently.

Opening bid $20,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. The auction is based in San Francisco, California, however the vendor is located in New York City.

Sellers description:
This rare Series 1 has white paint with black top and interior. Its amazingly low, original mileage of 69,900 is documented. The 3.8 liter motor and head are correct for this car and pull strong and start readily.

This California delivery car was the subject of a detailed refurbishment in late 2001 that included: a new leather interior, canvas top, dash pad, carpets, floor pans, steering wheel, stainless steel exhaust, tires, shocks, heater and blower, head gasket, dash panel switches, instrument panel wiring, carburetors rebuilt, differential rebuilt, brake calipers rebuilt, new hoses and belts, Cibie headlights, battery tray, lower control arm bushings, exhaust manifold recoat, and on and on.

One of the drawbacks of the Series One 3.8 cars was the lack of a proper full syncromesh transmission. This car has been upgraded to a full syncromesh transmission for better modern day driveablilty. Clutch was replaced only a couple of months ago. Car comes with over $25,000 in receipts. Has CD player installed. Original radio comes with car. The car is in great, rust-free condition and comes with original handbook. Chassis# 880037. Build date 8/28/63.

This E-Type roadster warrants close attention from any enthusiast or admirer of the famous Jaguar marque.
