Current bid: $1,000 reserve not met 1 bid 2 days left in auction, seller gateway-classic-cars, 38k miles, car now said to be in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Seller's description:

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1964 Jaguar E-Type for sale at the Milwaukee Showroom. When it comes to brand names on cars, Jaguar embodies the ideal of combining top notch performance and ahead of its time features to accomplish an all-around vehicle that represents elegance. This E-Type is no exception and serves as a prime example evident by a full rotisserie restoration featuring NOS and Martin Robey sheet metal, that shows what this car looked like brand new in 1964. The pure white beauty packs a 3.8 liter inline 6-cylinder engine under the hood which offers plenty of power and reliability to move this beauty along and comes fresh as can be with it being rebuilt top to bottom. The Jag is equipped with the original tool roll, jack, owner’s manual, and service manual that is sure to impress any purist that you may encounter at a car show. Under the car one might notice that this car has been upgraded with a stainless-steel exhaust system which serves nicely in giving the pipes longevity over the original materials found on the stock exhaust of this car.

Power is provided by a 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and work performed under current ownership has included rebuilding the triple SU carburetors and installing air conditioning, electric power steering, and alternator conversion kits in addition to replacing the valve cover gaskets, radiator, distributor, and components for the ignition and braking systems. This Series I XKE roadster is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a car cover, the manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The car was finished from the factory in Opalescent Golden Sand and was repainted in its current shade of white under previous ownership. Features include split chrome bumpers with overriders, a louvered hood, glass headlight covers, and central dual exhaust outlets. A ceramic coating was applied to the paint in April 2021, and work performed in 2020 included repairing a dent on the hood and subsequent paintwork as well as replacing the antenna, windshield washer pump and motor, hood latches, and the black soft top.

Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels and Bridgestone Turanza tires are said to have been installed under current ownership. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors, and the front brake components, handbrake calipers, and brake master cylinders were replaced in August 2022. An electric power steering kit was installed in 2021.

The cabin was trimmed in tan leather from the factory and refurbished with black leather upholstery under previous ownership. Appointments include a center console, a heater and defroster, hand-crank windows, and a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood head unit linked to aftermarket speakers. Work since 2020 has included installing an air conditioning kit, repairing wiring connections, and replacing the lap belts.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally mounted auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer was overhauled and the cables were replaced in 2020. True mileage is unknown.

The 3.8-liter inline-six was factory rated at 265 horsepower and features dual overhead camshafts. Work performed since 2020 includes a valve adjustment and the installation of an alternator conversion kit. Additional work has included rebuilding the carburetors and replacing gaskets for the valve covers and the oil pan in addition to the following components:

Radiator, header tank, coolant reservoir, & coolant sensor

Distributor, ignition switch, & spark plugs

Crankshaft & water pump pulleys

Fulcrum shaft

Fuel hose and filter
