Ebay item 6/2/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $25,000, no reserve, no bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
The car I am listing is in fact my Grandmother's. She has owned it since 1964. She is the second owner of the car, as she bought from a estate. It has been driven very little, however has always been garaged. She is now 86 and has decided to let it go.The car is in good condition and has only 9419 miles. The spare has never been out of the trunk. It has factory wire spoke wheels. It was not covered in the garage so it needs the paint buffed out.One time some years ago someone broke in the garage and tore up the top getting in the car and as a result the top was left down all this time, however she bought a new top and it goes with the car. Because of the top being left down in the garage it needs new carpet and the seats recovered. With Missouri being a humid climate it has some minor surface rust but none serious. This is our second auction for her car and we have cut the price by 15K because of advice from all over the world about the cost of restoration. We have added pictures all places on the car that folks requested.. Undercarraige..Rocker panels..etc Otherwise this is a one of a kind, genuine car that I doubt there is another on Earth that would need so little attention..If I had money I'd buy it in a second, but ..She would like for someone to have it who will restore it back to showroom condition...

The car appears to be undergoing a very nice restoration.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
