Ebay item 2/21/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1964-Jaguar-XKE-Convertible-3-8L-4-Spd ...
Car has a buy it now price of $108,900 for 20 days.

Sellers description:
We have original documents showing the car ordered from Jaguar Cars, Inc of NYC by A.L. Swanson of the USA on April 24, 1964 for overseas delivery in Munich, Germany. Further records show the car scheduled for delivery to Mr. Swanson on June 16, 1964. More records show the car insured by AAA for use in Europe and shipment from Gothenburg, Germany to NYC, for Mr. Swanson. The original delivered cost with AM radio, whitewall tires, luggage rack, hard top (not included) and wire wheels was $5,081.16.

Now this '64 comes from a private collection in Wisconsin where it has been since September, 1988. Since then it has been completely disassembled and fully restored to the highest standards of authenticity using original or NOS parts. The odometer reads 98,624 miles, which is reportedly correct. Slightly less than 5,000 miles have been put on her since restoration.

This is a Jaguar Heritage Certified car with all matching numbers (frame, body, engine, transmission, etc.) The body, interior and top are their original colors. Note the inside of the trunk lid was not refinished and displays original factory grease pen markings. Please also notice the car has not outside mirrors. Series I Jag left the factory outside mirror-less. Dealers installed them when, and where desired, by the original buyer.

We have extensive pictures of the Jag's entire physical and mechanical restoration and a corresponding cost journal from not notch shops known for their Jag work. The pans were solid as were the rocker areas and inner panels. All remain original. Minor rust on the driver's rear quarter panel required new metal. Restoration photos and recent infrared inspection shows that area to be solid metal with excellent adhesion and consistent paint depth.

Since restoration this Jag has been professionally maintained by its restorers and only driven in the best of weather; typically to shows or limited outings. Only upcoming retirement and life style changes prompted its 22 year owner to give up his pride and joy.

We've been blessed to sell several Series I (OTS) roadsters recently. One was a 20,103 original mile untouched one owner survivor. Another was a Concours d' Elegance Invitational award winner. Neither stood significantly taller than this gem. Each had their history but none more rich or documented than this '64.

Every inch of this car glistens. The car starts and runs as new and everything works. The restoration is outstanding and the attention to detail makes all the difference between our Jag and all others. Even the original owner's color choice - rare red-with-red interior - makes this car very special.
