To be at an auction in Paris on Oct. 30th 2016, auctioneer description:

www.artcurial.com/en/asp/fullCatalogue.asp

Lot 120
1962 Jaguar Type E 3,8 l coupé
No reserve

Carte grise française
Châssis n° 886 096
Moteur n° R5632-8

- Remarquable état d'origine, moteur d'origine

French title
Chassis n° 886 096
Engine n° R5632-8

- Remarkable original condition, original engine
- Just two owners since 1973 !
- Superb original upholstery, preserved by a committed enthusiast

Sold new in the north of France, the car on offer was registered 619 NH 52 in November 1973. Towards the end of the 1970s, the car was stored away in the owner's château, alongside other prestigious cars. It was here that the current owner, then in his 30s, first laid eyes on it, and decided to buy it. Being passionate about engineering, he had started to assemble his own collection. He carried out an extensive service of the car that was the beginning of a full-scale love affair with this coupé. The engine, including the cylinder head, is original, and was overhauled 6,000 km ago. The Moss gearbox works well. Cosmetically, the body is extremely sound, as can be verified from a careful inspection, through to the spare wheel compartment. The doors are well aligned and the bonnet appears never to have been restored or modified. The original leather upholstery has been conserved and is presented in a rare condition, with one or two faults in the seams but displaying a lovely patina. The trim and superb dashboard have the same attractive patina.
The paintwork was refreshed some ten years ago and the only departure from originality is the reassuring presence of Coopercraft brakes. Today, this remarkably original coupé has just 81 000 km on the clock. Its history is in evidence, with just two careful owners since 1973, making this a unique opportunity!

Estimation 45 000 - 65 000 €
