"886351" came out of the assembly lines on June 29, 1962 and was sold new by New York Dealer Max Hoffman to its original owner on July 10 of the same year. We still find his trace in the United States in 1982 when it is in the hands of an American collector living in Palm Beach before she joined France in 2004. The car is white and must be restored almost completely. . Without waiting, the car is sent to Thierry Automobiles in Bron not far from Lyon. The bodywork is completely redone in a very elegant British Racing Green with a cabin in light beige leather Connolly and all parts are purchased from the specialist Jaguar SNG Barrat.
But some time before attacking the mechanical part, its owner falls ill and the beautiful will find herself stored in the shelter. In December 2016, the current owner decided to purchase it with the aim of completing the restoration. All the mechanics are redone, engine, clutch, carburetion, gearbox, brakes, exhausts, suspension, electrical harness and cooling circuit, more than 30 000 are invested in the car besides the manpower. The result is splendid, the alignments of the opening are perfect, the engine is a piece of goldsmith and the cabin looks like new!
On the road, the car is free of reproach. The six-cylinder Jaguar fires, the gear ratios are precise, the brakes effective. The behavior of the car both in town and fast track is excellent. To avoid spoiling, a very important file of invoices and photos will be given to the buyer (American papers, all French invoices since 2004, photos of the restoration - disassembly and reassembly, Jaguar Heritage Certificate, technical control of 20/10 / 2018 and expertise report.
