Current bid $1,584 reserve not met, 7 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This 1963 Jaguar XKE Coupe is ready to be restored, or just put back together with your engine and trans and driven and enjoyed. The car at sometime in the past had been converted to a Ford 302 V8 and 5 speed for power, so the original engine and trans are missing, the V8 and 5 speed are no longer with the car either. I have seen a couple of original engines and trans around recently so you should be able to come up with one fairly easily.

The car has some rust but very little for its age and condition. The worst of which is in the drivers side rear trailing arm mount. It is still attached but there is some rust. There is also some rust in the floor pan. The front part has been replaced but the rear part is still in need. The body of the car is nice and solid. and ready to be stripped and body work done. There is one dent in the passenger rear quarter, but should be an easy fix. There is bondo on the car, it looks like someone tried to fill the seams at sometime in the past. I have no idea what is under there. The bonnet is in decent shape the lower lip has been dented, and of course there was a round hole cut in the top to allow the V8 to breathe. The hole has been repaired with fiberglass and looks really decent. One of the glass covers for the headlights is missing but both chrome rings are there.

The glass in the car all looks good. The interior looks to be mostly there and the front seats have been recovered in a high grade vinyl. It looks like most everything is there to put the car back together. The center gages have been removed and replaced with some aftermarket ones when the V8 was added, but the original speedometer and tach are still there.

The wheels look decent but do have some surface rust, and will need to be cleaned up. The tires are old, but they still hold air

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
