This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 FHC is a race-focused example of the iconic classic British sports coupe, with a rich competition history.

Under the bonnet now sits upgraded naturally aspirated 4.2-litre straight-six with triple Weber carburettors and a dry sump, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.

Having been converted to racing specification in the early 1980s, it was piloted by renowned American driver and former president of the Jaguar restoration specialist ‘XKs Unlimited’, Jason Len, in numerous competitions between 1985 and 1988.

It later competed in the 1992 Classic Cup at the Nürburgring, and the ADMV Classic Cup at EuroSpeedway Lausitzring in 2010 and 2012.

The car underwent meticulous preparation for both GT-1 and GT-2 class racing, and has also benefitted from an engine overhaul carried out through 2022 and 2023.

It has recently been imported to France from Tennessee, USA, and then moved to Spain.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

This 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 FHC is finished in red, with white racing stripes, ‘26’ numbering on the bonnet and doors, American flags on the front wings and rear hatch, and the driver name ‘Jason Len’.

It features ‘Coast Classics’, ‘XKs Unlimited’, ‘GT-1’, and ‘Jean Marc Lazzari’ lettering, as well as decals and stickers from Snap-on, Tilton, OMP, Castrol, and the SCAA.

Equipment includes flared wheel arches, black door mirrors, a modified side-exit exhaust, a front lip spoiler, a battery cut-off switch, acrylic side and rear windows, a racing fuel tank, a modified undercarriage, and 15-inch eight-spoke wheels with Hoosier tyres.

The cabin features Allstar Performance window nets, a three-spoke Moto-Lita steering wheel, a single bucket seat, an OMP four-point harness, a roll cage, and a fire extinguisher.

Accompanying the vehicle will be its State of Tennessee certificate of title and registration plate, as well as a collection of photographs.

SERVICE HISTORY

The engine oil was last replaced in 2022.

This 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe was converted to a race car in the early 1980s and was driven by the former president of XKs Unlimited, Jason Len, in various events between 1985 and 1988. The car later competed in the 1992 Classic Cup at the Nürburgring along with the ADMV Classic Cup at EuroSpeedway Lausitzring in 2010 and 2012, and it was imported to Europe from the US around 2022. The 4.2-liter inline-six features Weber carburetors and dry sump lubrication, and it was rebuilt in Spain between 2022 and 2023 before being brought to Belgium and acquired by the seller. The body features a fiberglass hood and fender flares finished in red with white stripes, and racing equipment includes polycarbonate windows, a roll cage, a Recaro bucket seat with harnesses, 15″ alloy wheels with Hoosier slicks, a modified side-exit exhaust, and a battery cut-off switch. This XKE Series I coupe race car is now offered in Belgium with a bill of sale.

The car was fitted with replacement body work finished in red with white stripes, including a fiberglass hood, fender flares, and steel rear body panels. Front canards and an air dam were also added along with polycarbonate windows, a battery cutoff switch, an aftermarket mirror, custom covered headlights, and air intakes. The left taillight is held together with duct tape, and chips and blemishes around the body can be seen in the gallery.

The 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with Hoosier slicks. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The race-prepped cabin features a roll cage surrounding a Recaro bucket seat with OMP harnesses. A dry sump system is housed to the right of the driver, and additional features include a fire suppression system, a window net, drilled pedals, and a rear-mounted fuel cell.

The Moto-Lita steering wheel frames a custom dash housing a tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a 160-mph speedometer located on the right side. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The modified 4.2L inline-six was installed in the 1980s and features dry sump lubrication, triple Weber carburetors with intake trumpets, and headers feeding a custom side-exit exhaust. The engine was rebuilt between 2022 and 2023, and photos from the process are provided in the gallery.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The car is not legal for road use and is being offered on a bill of sale.
